😆
I work in construction zones and that feature scares the heck out of me.
😆Wait, you mean all Teslas aren't fully autonomous already???
While Tesla honors order prices, I'm not so sure on reservations...
i won't be on it, lol, I'll have both F150 Lightning and Cybertruck and I won't be biased as I'm also a stockholder of both companies. This thread can turn into a pissing match just like almost all truck conversations have for the past 100 years...
Amen. I really want to get rid of the manual T in my mustang and get a tremec put in because of that. Especially each time someone comments how much they love the tremec in Mach 1/GT350/Blackwing/Chevy SSNow if we can only get weaned with our addiction with cheap Walmart made-in-China items.
Agree, we can't go on pissing contest yet because there is nothing out there to piss on.So I get tired of the "comparison" blogs/"articles"/videos in which one vehicle does not exist and the other one does. I think it was one day after Chevy announced the Silverado aka Avalanche ev and they were comparison videos to the Lightning. One vehicle won't be out for another year and a half while one has loads of actual videos of people in them and driving around in it and ordering has happened!
Speculation (should be all caps, lol) is that this and the single motor will be put way way behind in production schedule so those who have reservations will upgrade to twin motor and those in tri to quad. And if everyone drops out, won't be produced at all.I reserved a tri motor CT. Part of the issue with honoring reservation prices is that now the top of the line CT will have four motors so it can crab walk or whatever. How do I get a pricing reserved for that when it wasn’t an option when I put in my reservation? Not too concerned about it as I’ll have a Lightning this summer. I can decide if it’s enough for me or if I need to consider a CT in a year or two.
I'm guessing you are not aware of all the issues people with Bronco reservations have gone through with FordThe great part about the lightning is it is not a theory now. I can can get dual motor, ER, Blue Cruise, 80 Amp home charger (In essence a back up power source), and all those added options of a lariat that will settle in around $73K after rebate. This summer. It's real in 2022 and not 2024.
I'd put that on all of that happening during the Supply Chain issues hitting. Now that they've come through this and the F150 is the number one selling vehicle, they aren't playing around with getting them out the door. I know how much the Bronco love is, but it ain't the F150. I don't think they are playing around. Also a lot of the bronco issues have to do with NEW parts. The Lightning is just the current F150 frame. There are delays on things but just don't order those additions with the Lightning. My sales guy said spray bed is on 6 month backorder. The Tonneaus have the same issue, just don't order; do it aftermarket - which is huge.I'm guessing you are not aware of all the issues people with Bronco reservations have gone through with Ford...
Many made reservations in summer 2020 expecting to received their Broncos in 2021 and are still waiting.
I ordered a Bronco for my wife and am having realistic expectations to receive it mid 2023. I am also waiting for the dealer to let me place an order for a Lightning Pro to replace my 2014 Volt.
I think we can both agree that the Lightning has A LOT of new and unique parts in it compared to the current F150, regardless of the frame used... and saying it will be real in 2022 might show a bit of overconfidence.I'd put that on all of that happening during the Supply Chain issues hitting. Aren't the Pros gone for this current waves?
Point is, it’s too early to compare the CT price with a Lightning because the Lightning has an actual price and the CT doesn’t. I’m excited for both but I’m more excited for my Lighting being delivered this year. I still have my reservation for CT from 11/19. So when it’s time to order I’ll consider the price then and how much I like or don’t like the Lightning.Speculation (should be all caps, lol) is that this and the single motor will be put way way behind in production schedule so those who have reservations will upgrade to twin motor and those in tri to quad. Time to upgrade or downsize is when Tesla calls telling you to choose your trim or when they open again their website allowing revisions to your reservations.
You don't think the Lightning is going to be delivered this summer?I think we can both agree that the Lightning has A LOT of new and unique parts in it compared to the current F150, regardless of the frame used... and saying it will be real in 2022 might show a bit of overconfidence.
Yes the Pro gone for the current waves, I don't have a reservation and no problem waiting for whenever it becomes available, I don't have to have it right now. Same as with the Bronco, I prefer not to buy the first year of a new model. The Bronco has had it's share of teething problems.
You are out to lunch on this one - the X had an actual listed price…I'm repeating myself here. My daughter's experience with her Tesla X was that she got the price set on the date she reserved the unit although when it was finally delivered 6 months later, it was already listed at a price $20,000 more.
I'm sure if the CT actually ever comes out, by that time, "autopilot" will be 20k and still be beta. The prices you note are base prices. Likely will be a $5,000 up charge for decent wheels. $12,000 for autopilot. Add in that there will likely be some type of "Performance" variant, that will be another $10,000 to $40,000.
I have a bridge to sell in Brooklyn made for someone who don't do price and performance comparisons on the big ticket items they are planning to buy.I’m amazed at the number of people that seem to join this forum mostly to tell us that Tesla does it better and the F150 is going to be bad.
