I posted this on another forum and I thought it may be useful for this discussion.
The only piece of data that matters is the miles/kwh. That multiplied by the battery size gives you the range.
On my spreadsheet I show the two ways most people will charge, 100% at home on L2, and 80% on the road at a DC fast charger.
I show total miles if you ran it down to zero SOC, which no one will do, and miles available run down to 10%.
All other factors, use of heater, ambient temperature, towing, etc., will be accounted for in the miles/kwh shown on the dashboard (trusting that it is accurate)

I've never exceeded 2.3 mi/kwh between charges. Sure, short jaunts might have a large number, but I'm more interested in the average over 100+ miles.

Same problem in North Dakota, extended range battery has trouble getting past 200 miles range at 45 degrees outside, and that is driving 60mph without the heater! This lightning is for sale!
You might even make a profit. The dealer near me is pricing the Lariat at $111,544.

No need to elaborate to the buyer about the range issues. And don't do it in California where they have a lemon law.:devilish:

First time poster. My charges seem to be all over the place. Only once did I get a charge to 326 miles. No when I charge I get 100% full and 263 miles. I have the Lariat with the extended battery. 263 is pretty far off 320. Thats 82%. its says 100% charge. I almost wish its didn't say the miles and just stated the state of charge. Tesla just states the percent of battery. I am pretty happy with this truck. It's really a great design.

It’s not an 82% charge, it’s a 100% charge. Your guess-o-meter is giving you a low estimated range because of the temperature.

So is 263 miles actually 320 miles? What is the Guess o-meter. Whats it guessing?
No, 100% is 100%.

Did you get the exact same mileage out of every tank of fuel you put in your previous ICE vehicles? Personally, mine would vary drastically at times based on how fast I was driving, how loaded the vehicle was, what I was pulling, how many start/stops, etc. GOM isn't really any different than the DTE calcs on ICE vehicles.

Miles/kwh is what you need to follow. You will learn how your driving habits and weather affect your range. Summer, around town driving, you very well may be over 2.5. For an ER, that is well over 300. Driving 65 mph in 0 F weather, one gentleman records 1.4. For an ER, that is about 180 miles.

Case in point, yesterday I drove direct from our cottage which is 260 miles. Left at 100% so in theory 131 KW onboard. Got 2.1 mi/KW. Arrived home showing 16% and 39 miles. 2.1 mi/KW would be 275 miles, but doesn't really account for regen in traffic jams, etc. (which we hit). Speeds 80+ at times but mostly 55-70 mph. It was raining and 55F for most of the trip, so in those conditions to easily do a 260 mile mostly highway trip in crap conditions is impressive in my book.

shhh you won’t make it when winter hits proper…that 275 miles will look more like 200…

Resetting the GOM will have no effect on your range. All it does is allow you to reset your baseline. If you're driving freeway miles your GOM will provide a lower estimate as freeway miles eat more electricity than around town miles. Reset after a toad trip for more accurate town driving estimates.

First cold weather 200 mile trip yesterday. Temperature in low 20's and driving an average of 65 mph. I set cabin temperature at 60 F. My mileage was approximately 10% less. I believe 20% less mileage is predicted for EV's. Winter is just starting so plenty of time to gather more data!

Actually I have the extended range battery not the Sr so at a 131kwh, I should be getting 485 km not 300 (3.7 x 131). Something is not adding up and the app and the charge settings in the vehicle are very glitchy, do not work
Are you getting 37 kWh/100 km? 131 kWh / 37 kWh/100 km = 3.54 hundred km, or 354 km.
This is how my trip is displayed; 40 kWh/100 km
or 131 kwh/40 kWh/100 km = 3.275 hundred km, or 327.5 kk which is 205.5 miles of range in the mountains for me.

try setting a departure time. It may be lowballing the range due to not preconditioning but any problems and you should be immediately contacting your dealer for warranty service. Your battery is warrantied so if there is a problem then it can be fixed instead of just guessing about your strange issue.
