Hey guys! I'm Krista and am new to the forum. I usually spend my time on the new Bronco stuff, however, SEMA has invited me (my YouTube Channel, Buckle Up Buttercup) to SEMA garage to get exclusive look at the lightning next week. I wanted to come on here to see what content would you like to see, are there specific questions that you want answered? I know first hand how it is to order a vehicle and wait so long for answers, so thought I would come on here to see if there is anything that you would like to see or know!

I’d like to see pictures of the Manufacturer’s label inside the front door and any real world, vehicle-specific range and consumption history from the vehicle displays. Thanks!

I want to know how the cabin heating system works. Air source heat pump? Heat scavenging from battery cooling? Energy-sucking resistance coil? Anyone in a northern US or Canadian location will be anxious about range loss in winter operations.

I would like to know more about what exactly does the Max Tow Package do, besides the marketing bs. We have all heard it provides better battery cooling and cooling for the motors. But how?
Agreed. We've also heard the Max Tow changes the suspension -- springs perhaps? It would be nice to get to the bottom of that one.

It would be good to get some details on the glass. To help keep the Mustang Mach E cool and quiet, its panoramic glass roof has a special low-emissivity coating, the windshield is IR-reflective, and the side windows are sound shielding. How about the Lightning windows?

Welcome to the forum Krista! Like @Voltz said if you see any stickers on the truck (like in the door sill) it'd be great to get that kind of information!

I'd also be interested in hearing your thoughts on what the interior build quality is like, fit and finish, material quality, etc.

Two big issues issues are the charging curve and the impact of towing on range. It would be great if you could get to the bottom of these.

Charging: The Lightning Extended Range will have a really big battery. Ford has said it will be limited to 150kW charging like the Mustang Mach E but should charge 15-80% in only 41 minutes. Will the charging curve in the Lightning be much flatter than the charging curve in the Mach E, staying near 150kW for a long time before dropping?

Towing: There is no single answer for this one as it will vary with trailer weight and shape. However, it will be important for route planning to know the sort of range reductions we should expect. Ford recently did a lot of testing with trailers in hot and cold climates. The Lightning is a truck. It would be great to know how towing will impact it.

Thanks for joining us here @Bronco.Babe.Krista.

So the Out of Spec video on this wasn't enough? It has an extra loop of cooling.

EDIT: I guess how does it cool?

Also how exclusive is this? Are they answering your questions on camera or just giving you the key to walk around and do whatever? (similar to what [email protected] just released)

Thanks for the offer to get some answers to burning questions! Voice recorder would be good?
01-What are the best estimates for production and delivery dates for all the Lightnings for 2022, especially if 2023 orders are to be started this Summer (June 21-Sept 20)?
02-Are the XLT 312A package front seats heated and ventilated? If an XLT is there, how are the cloth seats?
03-Will the 360 cameras record movement around the truck, i.e., Sentry Mode like Tesla? How well do they work in low light?
04-How much better will the Tow Technology, Onboard Scales, work for better range estimates? Is ambient temperature considered for range?
05-What is the maximum scale weight (the regular F-150 manuals shows 1,400 lb)?
06-Do they have an Owner's Manual available on the center screen? What are the maintenance recommendations for the Lightning (coolants? any transmission oils, etc.)?
[compare to 2022 regular F-150 manual: https://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/Catalog/owner_information/2022-Ford-F-150-Owners-Manual-version-1_om_EN-US_10_2021.pdf ]
07-Is rear underseat storage on the XLT a pop-up plastic bin? Can seats be locked down on top of it? Where are tire jack and tools located? Electric jack?!
08-How well will the Lightning "Co-pilot360 assist 2.0 Technology" "lane centering" handle curves without kicking off and giving a warning beep? What is the maximum curve angle vs. speed that lane keeping will work for? Hmm, Mach-E minimum working speed is 40mph. Would be nice to see a chart of this from the engineers.
09-Is there an Auxilliary Camera function included as part of the Tow Technology? I would like this for a view inside my "topper".
10-Will Ford promise to have replacement batteries for the 2022 Lightnings that will have 50% better range by 2030? You know, sustainability!
11-What is Ford doing to insure Direct Current Fast Charge stations are everywhere (National Forests to Inner Cities) and include amenities like bathrooms and trash cans at a minimum? And that trucks with trailers can access charging equipment! Need pull through stations!
12-Any way to have Red LED bed & mirror-spot zone lights for camping & preserving night vision?
13-What is the maximum height of standing water that can be driven through?
14-Where are the fuse box and 12Vdc battery located? Can 12Vdc accessories be added?
15-Can Frunk and bed power outlets be used while driving? Need to keep my refrigerator going. Previous answer was yes in January, but double checking.
16-Driving over dry grass, is there anything hot enough to worry about starting a fire?
17-Could fixed hood antenna be replaced with a power antenna that can recess when vehicle is off?
Check this January forum thread as well: Questions for Product Specialists at the DC Auto Show?

18-Can the display show where the power is being used in the truck, that is, for seat heating, lights, front/rear motors, etc? Kia has this in the EV6, I think.
19-How about having a heads up display like the Kia EV6?
20-"Frequent use of DC charging could result in reducing your battery’s efficiency and lifespan. This is more pronounced on the standard range battery pack versus the extended range battery pack." What does "frequent use" mean? How many times, in what time period, will cause degradation of the standard range battery vs. times/time period for the extended range battery?
21-Where does the cursed front CA license plate go? Looks like it would block some cooling airflow in front?
