I received an email from Ford today basically telling me that I was still in the reservation system and that I would get a chance to order soon… Does anyone who has been able to convert a reservation to an order recall receiving a “get ready” email like this? Does this possibly mean I will be getting to order in the next wave? Any insight appreciated!!

Based on what I have read here on the forums - about 20k people who got a similar email last year have had their orders converted. (Going off how many estimated Lightnings were built.)

I went back to my old emails to see if I had something from last year. There was a similar email in Dec 2021, essentially saying "We (Ford) would be opening order banks soon and there is a long list of people interested."

Ford posted they expect to produce 80K MY23 Lightnings, meaning in the next 12 months they may produce that many, so depending on when you put in your reservation, you may or may not be on the list.

Probably not what you wanted to hear --- My reservation date is May, so I am hopeful, but just hopeful at this point.

I checked my emails from Ford and I received pretty much the same “get ready” email about 30 days before I got the order email, hope this helps.

They did that for 2022 orders as well.

I received an email just like that on Aug 8th.....then, an invite to order on Aug 11th. Hope it comes as quickly for you.

Should I be concerned that I've not been getting communications like this from Ford RE: my lightning reservation? I've gotten occasional messages from the dealer, am apparently #48 in their queue with a 5/20/2021 reservation, but don't think I've gotten any of these sort of communications direct from Ford since the end of March.

Thank you for reserving an F-150® Lightning™. Your front seat to the all-electric future is coming. To help move us forward with production planning, we need some details from you about the truck you plan to order. The information you provide will help us determine when to reach out to you again about ordering. Note that we expect nearly all of our current reservation holders will be invited to order by next summer.

Please take a moment to respond by September 26th, 2022 and help us get closer to moving your F-150 Lightning from our assembly line to your driveway.

This is the first communication since March when Ford let me know all the MY22 were ordered. I wasn’t too surprised then as my reservation date is 5/30/21, but I hoped to be in the front part of the queue for MY23 orders/builds.

Did other reservation holders get this 9/2 email? Should I remain optimistic that I am getting closer to an order date for a MY23?
Or should I put on my sad face and adjust my expectations?

I got the same email on Sept 2nd. Filled out the survey the same day stating I was ordering Lariat ER and basically replied to all of the questions about the reservation system positively as I haven't really had any bad experience other than the wait time. I then got the invite to order on Sept 7th...

Not sure if this is helpful but I'll tell you what I experienced prior to this. My original reservation date was June 19th 2021. I had been contacted by my dealer in Spring of 2022 to see if I was still interested and they disclosed that I had a very low reservation number but they never disclosed where I stood in their reservation que (if that's even a thing). The sales guy I have been working with told me that they couldn't make sense of what Ford was doing because some of the people who got selected to order before me apparently had reserved at a later date... I've seen so much differing information on the internet, that I'm not sure what to believe... Thankfully, I have not been in a hurry to get a new vehicle so waiting was as painful to me as it could have been to some others.
