Something I noticed on the highway the last few days - my BlueCruise seems to want to briefly disengage each time I pass under an EZ-Pass sensor tower. It's like it sees it, asks me to take the wheel, and then immediately returns to hands free mode once I pass under the toll sensor truss. Is this something others have seen?

I've had this happen, but it's been on EZ Pass express lanes (high speed tolling). At the same time, I've typically had to move over or segragate to that side of the highway (EZPass Hi speed vs EZPass/Cash Toll booths) which BlueCruise does not do well in. I spent some time on the NJ Turnpike and it typically handed the truck over to me when approaching the toll area as you mention. My suspicion is it's not smart enough to determine anything other than it's coming up to a "tollstation" so it hands it over to you to perform the "toll" operation whether that's EZPass, stopping to pay cash, etc.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if this was the BC responding to map data that says "Don't autopilot through a toll booth area", or if the sensors are getting blinded by IR signals of some kind. I seem to lose BC when the truck is facing into direct sunlight in the late afternoon, this could be a similar issue.

Where did you see this? I suspect it is based on a map indicator for the driver to take control through the toll reader. On MD-200 in MD the time/distance of the cutoff before and after each EZPass reader is very consistent.

I wonder if the Ford Map data knows that all of our toll lanes up here became readers/plate scanners and that no one stops at a booth anymore.

I hear you about the BC sensors and direct sunlight in the early morning or late afternoon. I experienced this on an early morning driving on I80 in NE. Every time the I got behind some trees or went under a viaduct BC would come back briefly and then shut down again when the direct morning sun hit the truck.

Direct sunlight seems to blind the cameras for me too. Wet roads at night in busy traffic also seem to give the BC fits.

If you look at the Blue Zone maps that are now online, I’ll bet all of your EZPass scanners show up as red dots (breaks in Blue Zone coverage). Mine do.

In IL BCHF disengages at all automatic I-PASS lanes. I think it is a safety consideration.
For many of the scanners along the MA Pike, the I-Pass sensors are on an overhead trellis, and we don't have any lanes or barriers to navigate. You wouldn't know you were getting scanned if you didn't look up. It seems strange to lump these sensors in with others that may require passing through a gate or a constricted section of roadway.

I have also noticed this, both with overpasses and canyon/mountain areas where I typically also lose satellite radio.
