Somewhere I heard Ford was going to void warranties on the Lightning if it was sold to a 2nd owner sometime during the first 12 months of ownership.

Is that true?
GM has threatened to do this to try to combat the epidemic of scalpers. I have not seen anywhere that Ford is looking at this; yet. It is obvious that Ford is as frustrated with scalpers as GM is however, so it would not surprise me if this were to come down the pipe soon. I hope so. Anything and everything to discourage the practice makes it better for the end customer.

Not to mention with the FORD price hikes, it is pushing the price of the Lightning higher and if someone tries to stack a scalper premium on top of that you are pushing $100,000.

Nope - this is not true, Ford’s warranty continue to be transferable. They’d have a really hard time making this happen & the legalities that would ensue. Same reason GM has threaten but not moved on beyond that.

so go ahead, buy that Lightning and enjoy it, it’s the best vehicle I’ve ever had!

GM's letter has a list of "currently impacted vehicles."

This looks a whole lot like permission for the dealer to not cover vehicles listed if they have been flipped. I guess the question then becomes, why would I pay extra for a vehicle from a flipper when there could potentially be this type of problem?

No thanks, but your mileage may vary.

Ford ain’t doing this and I wanna bet there is an expensive lawsuit coming GM’s way - it forces a customer to buy a vehicle and keep it for 12 months EVEN if they don’t like it/don’t want it.
