I have had my lariat trim lightning extended range for about 2 weeks, my range is only 230 and should be around 320 or even 300. Is it possible that I received a non extended range battery even though the order says everything was correct? Is there a way to check the actual battery or in the trucks display?

No, For didn’t install the wrong battery. This is the third of these threads today. Read this:

the best thing to do is to lay down under your driver's door and look for the battery pack LABEL on the side of the battery... it will tell you the 'size/kwh' of the battery pack... my Pro says "107.6 kwh"... and your ER should read somewhere in the "135 kwh" size...

I thought of this post when I drove this weekend. I went down to see family and it was a 64 mile drive in the morning and 70 miles back (went a different way). In the morning I got 2.8 mi/kWh and on the drive back it was 2.3 mi/kWh. It was 80-90% highway and I got 2.8 because I used cruise control and kept my speed under 70. Probably more 65ish. With traffic and slower cars it was never a static number. On the drive home I did about the same but I did stomp on it a few times because I got irritated with people and I had plenty of juice for the return. But I still did the same.

2.8 x 131 = 366 miles
2.3 x 131 = 301 miles

the "real world" range tests that tubers and magazine people do is generally a test with no traffic and a set speed. A speed you don't have to do and conditions you aren't going to be in all the time. It isn't phony, just not as important as one may take it. Could I have gotten 366 miles? shrugs tubers have gotten better than EPA before. Also the tubers is a range test of just highway and EPA should be combined highway/city.

But all of this is to say, your driving habits determine your potential range. Not exactly the same, but much like a gas powered car.

To see the Ford's advertised range, charge your Lightning to 100% then reset your driving history on the touch screen: Settings/Charge/EV driving history (press and hold to reset). Before resetting, if you want to see your driving history, go to the FordPass App and select Vehicle/My EV driving.

I had the same full range concern since my extended range Lariat showed only 270 miles (instead of 320) at 100% charge. I spoke with Ford and the agent explained that my driving history is part of the range calculation. Since I recently had a 200 mile highway trip at ~72 MPH, my range at 100% charge was (predicted to be) 270 miles instead of the expected 320. To prove this, I went into the Ford's touch screen (not Ford Pass app) and reset EV driving history. My Lariat was 100% charge and the range suddenly changed to 320 miles. Tesla does not include your driving history in the range. At 100% charge, my Tesla MX always shows the full range of 328 miles. (Perhaps there is a setting to alter that, I have not looked.) Obviously, I get ~25% less than that in the real world.

I hope this helps.

A lot of factors could impact your driving range, Just like a gas car how you drive and where you drive impacts your range. What kind of commute do you have?

It's not a problem, it's a history lesson of how the truck has been driven in the recent past.

No miles added in real life. :alien: To turn a phrase, those who ignore their driving history are guaranteed to repeat it.

As @FM_Jack mentions above, pay attention to the mi/kWh. If you want a real 320 miles of range, alter driving style to keep it between 2.4 and 2.5 mi/kWh. It's possible, but I'm not sure what the point is.
