Does anyone know how to make this destination marker go away. I dont even remember setting a designation 138 miles away. I can not figure out how to clear it and I think it might be preventing my update from installing.

There was no red X on Navigation. What I did was added a destination a block away and then there was a red X. I hit that and it made the 138mi designation go away.

You did the right thing. You have to kill a destination. If you have one, kill it. If you don't, make one and kill it.
This is a known software bug in the Mach E as well.
