They need to work on the trailer and charging situation for sure. Glad this one had a long cord!

what kind of mi/kWh are you getting when pulling that boat? I’m still uneasy over all the tow range talk.
I towed that boat about 90 miles total yesterday. Half interstate at 65-75mph, the other half bigger city/town roads but still stop and go avg around 40mph. The overall average was 1.4kwh

I will say after towing with this truck most days to some degree and 6 different boats varying size and weight: the truck tows wonderfully but towing efforts are best with local runs where battery distance isn’t the biggest concern. If I were able to have left with a 90% battery for my long trip, I wouldn’t have needed to stop to charge. But I ran it numerous places and left for the delivery at 61% with 67 miles to destination. According to the guess o meter I would have made it, and been able to drop the trailer… at which time miles theoretically double again after. Thus could have charged later when “needed” and been with no trailer. The nav suggested a stop about half way and to change for 10 min and conveniently chose an EA fast charger along the way. It worked out, and I was happy to not have range anxiety while towing. Funny thing is I Gained 65 miles during a 25min charge session and landed at home with 88 miles. So In the end, I theoretically could have made the round trip without ever stopping.

In short, towing more that about 100mi daily will create a need to start planning better.
1.4 is pretty impressive considering normal op that I’ve seen on YouTube/posts is something like 2.0. Someone else mentioned the desire to tow a light trailer and see the impact. I’ve got a small aluminum trailer for atvs. Whole package loaded is <2k lbs. I really want to know if the truck will even see a measurable impact. Keep posting for us hungry onlookers. 😅
