So got my F150 Lightning two weeks ago. Paid $79,300 out of the door (incl tax, title etc). Just love the truck, but my wife thinks she cannot drive it as it is too big. My extended family and friends love it. One friend said how about I pay you $15K and have an option to take it when I want to drive it.

Have been a Mach E owner last 16 mos., love the Mach E and how Ford have come a long way. Have driven the Mach E two 1500+ miles road trips and no issues.

How should I make this decision?

What things should I consider?

Financially, maybe I can take the $7500 Fed Rebate on this, and sell the Mach E. The Mach E might sell for $54-55K while this truck will cost me $71.5K. Is the upgrade worth. Will this hold value.

We are a 100% EV family - Mach E, Ioniq 5, and now the F150

For me it would boil down to whether the truck comes in handy for you. Are you going to have situations where you need a truck but the MME / Ioniq cannot handle?

Also, what exactly is your wife’s concern about the size of the Lightning? If you live in like San Fransisco where it’s impossible to find truck sized parking and many parking lots cannot be navigated without driving over curbs, sure.

I find a lot of less experienced drivers have very irrational fears about being in a larger vehicle.

well i sold my mach e gt and i bought my lightning lariat sr and traded it in in two weeks for a lightning lariat ER bc this winter has been brutal on my range. this lightning ER has been just as good as my mach e gt on range and efficiency which boggles my mind. i love how humongous it is and its roomier in the back and has most of the features of the mach e. i miss the child lock/fart mode button with my window switches. but nice to have a sunroof that opens but hate that i cant fit in tiny spots. although park assist help with this behemoth. so i say keep the lightning all the way!!! in the past we resist keeping trucks fulltime bc of their horrible mpg rating making it a special use utility. now its a typical commuter car lol.
