The cruise control Speed Sign Recognition has bugs, I have had several instances, where the cruise control Speed Sign Recognition incorrectly reacts to the posted speed sign. Four days in a row, in the same location (I-5 south, as you go under I-205, south of Portland, OR) when the speed limit goes from 55 MPH to 65, the truck rapidly (nice acceleration :) ) to 85. The sign clearly looks like 65, not 85. I had my speed set at 59, so I would be fine if the cruise control went to 69, but not 85.
I called Ford and they did a remote reset, but it didn’t fix the issue.
I have had similar situations, where the truck accelerated to faster than the posted speed, in about 5 other places in the last couple of weeks, but they are not places I go by frequently.
I’m just turning off Speed Sign Recognition until this gets resolved.
It’s somewhat of a safety issue, but more concerned about getting a speeding ticket.
Other than that, I love my Lightning!

this is the same with my new Kia Sorento PHEV with 'ACTIVE' features, and also with the Model 3 Long-range I drove to San Antonio and back, in May, for the Lightning Drive event. They are not perfect, and I personally will not use them.

I have this in. MB. So far, no issues. I would need to check the problem on that specific location. We live in Sandy. But suspect it is not a truck issue more than a data base issue. There is a data base with speed limit locations and the vehicle is accessing via GIS location. I suspect that DB has 85 (think typo) instead of 65. That could happen anywhere as well as authorities changing a speed limit. I agree one need to pay attention but I do like the way out MB 350e slows down to 45 mph on that speed zone but then accelerates back to 55 once clear of that zone. It might save one a speeding ticket. That said, I will check that I5 location when I get a chance. Thanks for the post.

Souns like software that relies on OCR, but needs some logic and check tables (like only X # states have 85 mph speed limits, are we there?).

Same problem has been identified in the Mustang Mach E since last summer. Ford indicated they are working on a fix of some sort.

Hi there! Will you send us a private message with your VIN and Ford dealership info? I would like to look into your cruise control concern on my end.
