I was going to do the same thing but decided against it due to the lack of ventilation. I was worried the compressor would just burn out. But would love to see someone else do it and report back with results :)

FWIW have had a couple of Dometic 12v fridge and loved them.

Ventilation... as in somewhere for the heat to go! (that's a really good point!). Maybe integrating a fridge into something like a Decked System would be more appropriate?

We just successfully used this one this past weekend camping. (In case the Amazon link doesn’t work it’s a Coleman powered cooler 12V 40 quart.)

The Coleman branded power adapter makes it a little difficult to use it in the bed is it tends to block other plugs. It fits perfectly in the frunk you just have to lay the cooler on its side. We had no problems with it at all during the camping trip.

At the site we haf the cooler in the screened porch of our tent running an extension cable to it. We were able to close the tailgate as there’s a little area in the corner of the bed where is the tailgate, cover, and appropriate seals don’t intersect that was just big enough for the extension cable to pass through. So we were able to close and lock the tailgate as well as the cover and the extension cable was secure without impingement.

Question. When you use these types of products and leave them plugged overnight or for the weekend using the pro power outlets this wont drain the regular battery in the front trunk??
Asked another way - what will kill the front trunk battery?

Out of Spec did a test with a Lightning charging 5 EVs over night. The battery in the Lightning was fine the next day. I'm sure the frig won't affect the battery as much as the EVs did. Though I think you have to leave it in accessories mode but can leave the key out.

Frunk closed you only get 175 watts

There is no front trunk battery other than the 12v and it isn't used to power the outlets. The ProPower Onboard is providing 120/240v from the 400v main drive battery. One of these lists power draw as 90 watts. The ER battery is 131 kWh. That's about 2 months of cooler running time, although it's probably less due to other losses.

The small, 12v battery in modern EVs only powers a startup relay. One way to look at it, it "turns on" the vehicle.

Once the vehicle is powered up, a DC/DC converter powers all 12v accessories by stepping 400v from the traction pack to 12v (nominal, it is usually closer to 14v). This converter takes the place of the alternator found in and ICE vehicle.

The 12V operates all the usual automotive accessories such as the radio, lights, infotainment, HVAC, etc. The 12v battery is recharged off the 400v through the DC/DC converter when the truck is turned on and 12v charging can also occur at other times, such as L1, L2, and DCFC charging as needed. The 12v systems are operational when the truck is running or in Full Accessory Power mode (start truck with app or by pressing start button without depressing the brake).

The ProPower Onboard (120v and 240v) zones are operated directly by the DC/DC converter, which is why these will run only when the truck is fully turned on.
