Connective Services Unavailable - Menu no longer works - No Fordpass

My 23 Lariat was delivered 2 weeks ago. Everything has been smooth up until the 24th. As of that date, nothing updated in my Fordpass app. Couldn’t see charge status, location, PAAK, etc…

I went into Settings>Connected Services> but nothing shows up when clicking the menu. In fact, I get pop up stating Connected Services unavailable at this time and to try again later. If problem persists, contact your dealer.

I tried a factory reset with no luck. Call Fordpass help and they had me turn off Bluetooth, wifi etc….and then restart truck. From there logout and delete the truck from the app. Then add the truck back to app.

Unfortunately, no luck. Can’t activate Fordpass and still getting the same message when trying to goto the Connected Services menu to ensure everything is turned on.

I have a case open with Fordpass and am waiting a call back.

Wondering if anyone else has had this issue and what the fix was. We’re you able to do on your own?

I had this a few weeks ago. Started a chat in ford pass app. They escalated to engineering and it magically fixed itself in about an hour.

Well I hope that is my case. It being Sunday and ford pass being closed let’s cross our fingers for a Monday resolution.

Can you access your FordPass app at all? Can you sign in to your Ford account online?

If the answer to both is no, are you seeing error code CSIAH0320E?

If so, see: Error Code CSIAH0320E Using FordPass (possibly with NG...
You are probably running an app or signed up with a service that uses an unapproved API that has caused you to be locked out.

Yes I can get in the fordpass app and add the vehicle. Can’t activate it though….that’s the current hangup

Yes - shows the vehicle only. When clicking Connected Services it populates they aren’t activated in the vehicle and I need to go to the menu to ensure they are enabled.

yet the menu shows this option when trying to open the connected services menu….

Update - well I am not sure if Fordpass techs reset something remotely or connectivity kicked back in but was just doing a drive and noticed the modem icon in the upper right corner trying to communicate something. I parked and activated in the app…BINGO! From there I was able to access all connectivity services, PAAK and see vehicle info.

Time will tell how long this will hold. Will update if things change.

Hello all,

I just picked up my 2023 lariat last night, signed all the paperwork drove away and tried to activate the FordPass connected services and always failed with activation failed contact us so I push the contact us button and spoke to the support center and they confirmed that there is a current bug affecting the 2023 model year modems.

They are in the process of developing a fix that you can apply to fix the problem later on this month via OTA or you can bring it back to the dealer and have them activate the modem in their service center.

Had I been aware of this I would’ve asked the dealer to do this for me, but apparently they weren’t even aware.

Somewhat disappointing… but other than this, the vehicle is an amazing machine.
UPDATE!

I noticed what appeared to be a comms icon on the upper right side of the 15” display. I then opened the FordPass app and saw “Modem Active” status. It still would not activate so checked support articles and found a method for doing a FordPass master reset and went through those steps. After that completed I was able to fully Activate.

I’m in the exact same boat as you were, except I even brought my truck to the dealer to have the modem reset. They did, and the tech was able to activate the truck using his phone, but then when they turned the truck back over to me, no luck.
Do you happen to have the link(s) to the FordPass Master Reset steps? All I can find online is related to Sync 3.

Thanks in advance!

So maybe just by me asking the question, Ford decided to somehow miraculously enable my modem, as when I got in the truck this morning, suddenly Connected Services was available. But thanks for the link, and I'll keep it on hand incase I need it in the future!

Happy it’s working for you!
My Ford Pass stopped working 3 days ago. “Connectivity” menu wasn’t available at all. After removing my truck from the app and reading, 2 master resets and a factory reset, it still wasn’t working. I tried to get help through app chart, they recommended me to go to the dealer. I set up an appointment for next week. Then miraculously connectivity menu became available and I was able to reactivate my Ford Pass right away. Do the resets and keep trying, it will eventually come back. My theory is that Ford regularly reprovisions the modems.

Welp the issue is back! Yesterday morning noticed my info in the FordPass app didn’t update for about 12hrs or so. I couldn’t add/change departure times as well. Sure enough the connectivity menu in the truck was blank.
I chatted and called FordPass support and both reps told me it‘s now a known issue with 2023 MY and even if I got it back working it would just go in and out again. They stated engineers are working on a permanent fix with an ETA of end of Feb.

Overall that sucks! End of Feb for A bug patch? Oh well….

I did go down the troubleshooting rabbit hole and now it works intermittently.
1 - reboot center screen with steering wheel controls (only way to get connectivity services to show and needs to be done every time i drive
2 - Reset FordPass in truck and remove vehicle from app
3 - disconnect neg battery, wait 60 secs then reconnect. (funny Frunk would close with the button until i manually closed it)
4 - Add the truck back to the FordPass app and go through the steps again

Everything activated and worked like a charm after that. Only thing moving forward is I have to reboot the center screen while driving if Connectivity Services doesn’t work.

No I wait for 4.1.3 or whatever includes this fix. Currently on 4.1.1

Yesterday morning noticed my info in the FordPass app didn’t update for about 12hrs or so.
The long in-between updates happens frequently for me. Mine shows 17 hours right now, "Bluetooth disconnected"; truck is plugged in not charging. I've always assumed that it had something to do with the truck in deep sleep and whether you're communicating via Bluetooth or WiFi via internet. It will usually wake up from a swipe down on the FordPass app–eventually (iOS 16.3/FP 4.23.2/Truck 4.1.2). Adding departure times, etc. always seem to take many spins of the Ford Blue Circle swirly.

Update: During those 17 hours, the truck downloaded and installed 4.1.3 via automatic update. Connected to home WiFi, phone is usually too far away to have FordPass via Bluetooth connected. HTH
My services work fine. But for privacy reasons I like to turn the telematics off in the connectivity menu and turn it on occasionally to check for updates, or if I want to use the Ford trip planning. My issue is that the connectivity menu won’t expand and display the options. It just shows the connecting screen and then nothing happens. Sometime I can click it on and off several time and then spontaneously it will take a few seconds longer and the sub-screen populates, but there seems to be not pattern. So far tonight I’ve spent 10 minutes trying to access the menu and I can’t get it to pull up. I’ve done the reboot to no avail but I’m not ready to do the full reset and lose all my settings.

Privacy reasons huh?

What techniques do you use with your cell phone?

Same thing I do with my truck. It’s off when not in use.
