same! It did not re-appear when i started the truck again! This is the 4th Glitch since the latest ota update! 1. Trailer fault 2. Frunk adjar 3. Dash Brightness randomly changing and now 4. Powertrain MalfunctionYes I received that yesterday, around 3:30pm EST. The next time I started the truck, later that evening, it was gone.
12v is tapped from the traction pack to charge the 12v battery and run the 12v systems when the vehicle is on. You do not want this to keep running when the truck is off, due to the loss it creates; hence the 12v battery.Consumers testing Ford software? Not so good. One of the solutions for odd faults has been to check the 12Vdc battery connections. Some have found a cable loose. Why do we need a "lucky to get" 3 year life 12Vdc battery instead of relying on low voltage tapped from the long life big battery?
Sep 24 th after 1 day having the truck same message ....So just got this.. anyone else get a check engine light with 1200 miles?
Ok thanks for the info. It was clear this morning. Also got an update overnight (only 3.5.5). Waiting on PAAK. Dealer has it to check it over this morning. I asked them to at least check the 12V battery. Thanks Mark! Most of these messages are transients. Usually it’s best to just clear it and see if it comes back again before going to the dealer.
I never received a clear update on the issue, but I got my truck back after 3 days. They claimed to have reprogrammed a module. It’s been 3 weeks since and there have been no further issues of any kind. Ford’s BEV team opened a case on it at my request. I didn’t get much more info on the issue from them, but they did comp me a Ford protection plan for 3 years, so I don’t need to worry about brake pads, wiper blades, or cabin air filters.I just had this happen this afternoon on my ‘23 Lariat ER which I’ve only had for 2 weeks. Check engine light came on with like 320 miles on the ODO. Truck otherwise drove fine. Drove to the dealer but the error cleared on the way there. I showed them the fault message from my phone. They took a quick look but couldn’t figure it out. They said bring it back tomorrow and they’ll give me a loaner since they expect it could take a while to troubleshoot all the various modules. I’ll report back what they say.
Well, I got 5 weeks of error free use. The same error returned today. I guess this error only occurs on holiday weekends.I never received a clear update on the issue, but I got my truck back after 3 days. They claimed to have reprogrammed a module. I informed my service person at the dealer. But the error cleared itself the next morning and there have been no performance issues. I’m waiting for the dealer to call me back with their thoughts.Well, I got 5 weeks of error free use. The same error returned today. I guess this error only occurs on holiday weekends.
