There are a number of EVSE (charger) discussions here, and opinions vary, but as someone who installs chargers, here is my opinion.I have have had my truck for 2 weeks or so and never got the pro charger, I did find a place somewhere to request one but I have not got it. Has ford cut this out now as I been hearing lots stuff being cut out of these trucks now like scales etc which I don't think i got either no t100 percent on that one.
anyways my question is I would like to charge little faster than I can with the 30 amp charger i did get and wondered what others are using to charge faster at home, I have seen other chargers online but not sure which works best with this truck.
Unless you have to (like you needed the V2G feature) do not buy a an EVSE from Ford. They are expensive, and do not have a good track record for reliability.
Happily, there are a ton of good, and some really great EVSE's on the market. A 50 amp unit will give you a nice bump in speed over your 30 amp unit. As an example, Tesla's 50 amp unit is high quality and down right cheap. Chargepoint, Wall, Clipper Creek and Grizzly all make great high power units. If you like, we can look at your application and I can help you narrow down what might be the best for your needs.
