Hi,

I am in the process of building my house and the electrical rough is happening right now so I have to make sure I get this right to save time and money.

If I get a Charge Station Pro, how does that have to be wired to my house?

If it's just wired directly and there is no transfer switch somewhere between my house and the power main from the city, doesn't that mean that if my power goes out and I use my Lightning to power my house some of my power will go back to the grid?

Many thanks in advance!

You will want a 100A circuit dedicated to the Charge Station Pro. The unit will be hard-wired in, no transfer switch is required at the unit.

For the Home Integration System, I recommend you read up on those threads:

Make sure the wire ran is COPPER and not aluminum. The Charge Station Pro will need a 100 amp circuit breaker, and in its default setup it will NOT power your home in an outage..

If there is some technical limitation that would prevent you from doing a full 100 amp circuit breaker, the Pro Charger can be adjusted down to a lower charge rate.

If you want the whole home backup, you'll need to purchase the Ford Integration System for about $4,000 from SunRun. This Includes an automatic transfer switch, 9.2kw Inverter, and all the electronics to make it work.

SunRun quotes around $9500 and up for purchase and installation of Home Integration System plus installation of Charge Station Pro.

Went out and bought the CSP, (Charge Station Pro). Having a local electrician install it this morning. In the future I may add the HIS (Home Integration System.) Home much space does the HIS take up? Does it need to be installed in-between the incoming power/panel and the CSP, or after the CSP? Thx.
