Personally, I'd hardwire it on a 50 Amp circuit, making sure to downrate the FCSP to 40A. When you leave, install an industrial quality14-50R in its place.
Reason being that sometimes you can do things that work. And, sometimes doing it the right way is just about as easy. If you are sure the FCSP terminals, inlet, and strain relief are torqued properly and FCSP is rated to accept whatever 14-50P cordset you come up with, ignore this advice.
