@ford @fordmotorcompany @jim Farley…. Ford customer service needs training #1. They reps don’t even know or understand the Lightning models and equipment. Clearly the ER trucks are not shipping with the FCSP included. How is this supposed to work after delivery when your only charger choice is the mobile charger with 110 plug. Takes 3 days to charge! I have my house ready with a 80 feed for the CSP and no charger! What is the solution here? Only thing I see is paying an electrician to come add a disconnect box, with lower breakers and run a 14-50 off that and then have them come back a 3rd time when the real charger comes? SunRun doesn’t answer the phone or call back. And when they do we will AGAIN discuss that they don’t service my state. What service is this to a customer? Why did I spend 2 hours on the phone with Ford and no one even understood the problem and or question? Lastly, why do I have a $82k truck coming that I can drive for 1.5 days then need to park for 3 days to charge? What is the response and resolution from ford on this issue?

Yikes, This partnership with SunRun being the exclusive installer of the Charge Station Pro is already a problem. @Ford Motor Company can you help @NVevf150 out at all?

So, where I understand the frustration, We are the early adopters for this vehicle. Right, wrong, indifferent, this is what early adopters go through. Whereas not a part of your original plan, a 14-50 outlet is a relatively inexpensive stop-gap solution and will be handy to have in the long run (your 2nd EV?).

Does this mean we let the manufacturer off the hook? Hell no. I have made a lot of enemies being vocal (and some allies) dating back to the original EV1 fiasco as an early adopter.

First-World problems. ;)

Not ideal, but the mobile charger should still come with a 14-50 plug. https://www.ford.com/trucks/f150/f150-lightning/features/ev-charging/ford-mobile-power-cord/

Alternatively, local charging station or if you have an electric dryer plug at your house you could use a split volt/get an appropriate plug adapter while you wait for the FCSP.

Yes, I would be a little upset as well for this. I figured this may happen early on, so I planned on only using a 14-50 mobile connector that comes with the truck on an 14-15 outlet I already have installed. Plenty of charge rate for overnight charging at the house. For me this works, but it did cost me $1000 to get that run (Cable length = cost) to a spot close enough to charge my current Tesla, so it would not be ideal for someone looking for a non permanent setup. If you have an open breaker close to where you need the outlet, it could cost as low a $100 I'm sure and at the end of the day, every house will more than likely need to 50amp runs to parking area of every house within few years.

Good news: Ford has realized the delayed delivery of the FCSP is causing issues for people. Everyone who buys a Lightning with ER battery through the end of June is getting a bit of love from Ford to help alleviate the pain.

Welcome to the forum. When are you expecting to take delivery?

I'm kinda new to the EV world, I do have a Mach-E that I had a 240 plug installed on the side of my garage to charge it. Will that plug charge my Lightning at about the same rate as it does my Mach-E?
Yes it will. Just remember that the Lightning battery is bigger.

Very interesting on Ford helping us out. I just got my rig today. I didn’t see much info on how fast the 14-50 setup was gonna charge so here is what mine is doing on its first plug in. Hope this helps some of you others that are new to ev’s like me.

Just found this thread. Be warned this is a rant about the customer service side of home charging a Lightning. I absolutely love the truck! I picked up my Lightning Lariat with extended battery on July 12th. Charge Station Pro did not come with it the truck, called Sunrun many times. My truck sat on the 110 charger 24/7 until Charge Pro finally arrived July 28. My electrician hooked it up, then the nightmare began. The Ford set up app could not find the charger. I went through an hour long phone call with Ford. I was transferred several times. Spoke to 5 different people and none had a clue as to what the problem was. After 20 minutes with one agent (mostly on hold, or repeating my email address and VIN number) the rep admitted she doesn't know anything about the electric vehicles. I got bumped up the chain where the only suggestions were reload the app or shut off the circuit breaker and reboot it, which I had tried several times. Now, I apparently wait while someone further up the chain decides whether to replace the charger (who pays for the electrician this time?). The charger will charge the vehicle, however I do not have control over it. It shuts on and off continually and it will not charge over 90%. I searched out this problem and found no info on this situation. I hope this is of help to someone in the future

Changing out the charger will do no good seems like all them act this way including mine. I have a Emporia 48 amp brand it has no problem staying on my home network it is 15 feet away from the Ford station pro charger.
