After I came home from an event today in my Lightning, I started it charging and it shut off -- Charge Fault. I went out, checked the truck and found a red charging ring. Charger worked fine on the Mach E. Tried again on the Lightning, red ring. I tried to turn the Lightning on to cycle things and was greeted with Stop Now Safely and it wouldn't start (only went into Full Accessory). I let the truck sit about 10 minutes and it would start but still wouldn't charge. I turned off the charging schedule and charging started fine. I'm still using my ClipperCreek dumb charger, so the error is definitely on the truck's end.

Folks have been reporting a similar problem on Mustang Mach Es.

Sounds like this DTC the truck was throwing could be the problem but I don't see any posted solution.

I've been noticing conflicts between scheduled charging and my charger for the past few weeks. If I plug in the EVSE before it is due to start charging, the charger will keep turning its charging state on and off. Looks like scheduled charging may be having problems.

@Ford Motor Company: I've seen a similar report coming from Mach E users on their forum. Could this be an issue generated by a recent PowerUp?

I've had 'scheduling' problems this past week - never would charge on the scheduled 11pm timing - I fall asleep hours before then, so having to wake up and 'check' to see if the truck is charging is ridiculous. It is programmed in the truck correctly. It shows on the app correctly. Yet, it does not start charging. If I manually start the charging from the APP, it will, but then if I 'stop' the charging, then go back to 'resume scheduled charging', it immediately starts charging again, even though it's not TIME to charge yet. Crazy.

Also, with my MaxGREEN 240v 32amp EVSE, it provides some indicator lights to let you know 'what' is happening - such as SOLID GREEN for 'not plugged in', and a 'rainbow' of rotating color for 'Charging', and even a BLINKING GREEN for plugged in, but not yet charging. Number 3 is important, as it shows me that the truck recognizes that it is 'waiting' for the SCHEDULED TIME TO CHARGE. The problem is that when 11pm comes and goes, nothing changes - the EVSE is not sent the message to start charging.

I've unplugged and replugged and tripped the EVSE breaker and reset the truck and deleted the scheduled and 're scheduled' it, etc., to no avail.

FORD, just make it simple, please.
Also, just like you allow the 'ring' to be pressed to STOP charging, allow it to be pressed to START CHARGING - such as when you have a Scheduled Time to ALWAYS charge, no matter WHERE you are, but you want to plug in and charge NOW. Don't overcomplicate the charging process. My wife's Kia PHEV has this...it's purely SIMPLE>

Early on I tried scheduling charging and found that when I went out in the morning the charge did not charge that night. Not sure what went wrong, but It was with the Ford provided mobile charger. I have since switched to a Autel charger and it allows scheduling via an app and works as advretired, no problem so far.

I’ve had my truck not charge when I had it said set to the preferred time. And last night it charged to 100% even though I had it on the preferred setting. I’m using the mobile charger. Hopefully we can get some kind of resolution.

Hi there, I'd be happy to look into your Lightning concerns on my end. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into things on my end.
Hello! I am having this problem as well, with PG&E our off peak is from 12 AM to 3 PM. About once per week when I go out to the truck in the morning it has either not started charging at all or started late and is not fully charged.
