Experienced charge fault error when I try to charge at DC Fast chargers. Truck will not connect. Red (amber ring) near charger, then dash displays charge fault error. At home charge station pro works fine.

looked through thread and tried deleting schedules; didnt work.

Only getting errors at public charge stations. Anyone have a remedy for this? Today it happened at Electrify America and Duke Energy stations.

If occurring at different stations, indicates a problem with the vehicle. This is often a problem in the power control module in a GM, let us know the service outcome... the Fords are new to me.

How are you trying to initiate the charging session? Are you using Plug and Charge or are you initiating the charging session using an app or credit card? If you are using P&C, is your truck set up for P&C? Are you signed up for P&C under Ford Connected Services on the Ford website? Duke Energy stations won't P&C.

Try initiating the charging station using the app first, then plugging in.

Schedules only matter at locations where you have established a schedule. Ford only has location-based scheduling.

Thanks for the replies.

Yes truck and app are setup for plug and charge.

The app was used at the duke station. The electrify america station instructs you to plug first, let the truck connect and then follow the prompts. These methods worked for us during month 1,
Tried almost every variation of initiating, with the help of the service reps for both charge stations. Ford rep advised that the amber ring is noting an error and, for the time being concluded that only level 2 and below will work; and perhaps that attempting dc fast charge has caused an error.

truck is now noting a power train malfunction and has to be taken to dealer tomorrow per ford.
