First long distance trip and I found myself switching between Waze, a better route, and ford nav. I noticed that sometimes ford cuts off if I launch waze or a bettter route. Sometimes it does not. With Apple Maps, it’s 100% of the time, one or the other. Anyone know the logic here? Is it possible to run waze and ford nav simultaneously?

Is there an easier way to move between CarPlay and ford? I press the little tile below and CarPlay launches to my phone > favorites every time. Would be more convenient if it at least opened to what’s currently playing (music) or something. Is this a setting? Is there a way to have the ford nav showing and CarPlay in some manner? I assume not, but not sure…

Lastly, ford nav is nice for road trips to plan out charging. All was going well until I was close to my destination and got off the freeway only to find out Ford nav was seriously wrong. I had to launch waze and drive 30 min to reach my destination. This is my first time using ford nav and not CarPlay. Are there issues with accuracy?

Related, maybe someone can tell us how to get rid of apple navigation - so far I can say navigate to X using google maps.
but if I forget or some show apple maps gets started it is difficult to get rid of.
most of the time when navigating in the city definitely want traffic data and routing

I believe apple has some type of integration with the vehicle so Apple Maps will show directions and miles on your dashboard in front of steering wheel. So that would make sense why you cannot use ford nav and Apple Maps at the same time, but I’m unsure about the other apps.

In case it is helpful, Google Maps has a map “Category” called “Electric vehicle charging” under the “Services” subcategory. These Categories (including Restaurants, Gas, Parks, etc.) are typically listed along the top of the map just under the “Search here” bar. Just scroll to the right until you see “… More” and click that to see the full list of options.

That is helpful! I’ll check that out. Does it tell pull up chargers if you need to charge or just have them listed?

does anyone know if you can run maps in Apple CarPlay and the ford nav simultaneously?

As the OP describes, you can only navigate in one app at a time. I normally navigate with Ford Navigation and keep Waze open for alerts and to make reports.

What is the OP?

Got it. Thanks, that's helpful to know. Do you find the Ford nav to be as accurate as the other maps (Google, Apple, Waze)? On my recent road trip I found that the ford nav was correct 95% of the time but tried to take me on some weird routes. It also does not show any traffic, even though I have traffic enabled. I am planning to call Ford about it, unless this is normal. Does your nav have traffic and other map data?

OP = original post (or poster)

Yes, the Ford nav has usually been fine. It has tossed in the occasional odd routing but it’s almost as good as Google Maps/Waze. It definitely uses traffic data. I was alerted of travel delays due to traffic today as well as shown slow traffic on the map.

Ok, good to know, I have an issue then. I have zero traffic and some bad routes and wrong street names. Looks like I need to call ford 😢

Are your connected services turned on?

Are your connected services turned on?
Yes, they are turned on. However, I spoke with Ford this morning and while everything appeared to be "on" and my connected services were on, they did indeed see that traffic data was off. I was advised to wait until June for an update. While on the phone, I went into the connectivity settings for the car (outside of the navigation) and noticed that "traffic" and "mytrips" was toggled off. That fixed the issue. No idea why they would be off, I just got the truck and never flipped them off, and the rep didn't know these settings existed. She said she learned something today ;). Anyways, hope that helps anyone else if you are experiencing the same.
