Hey there, all! I'm a little bit embarrassed to admit that I only just found out about this forum today. I'm presently the owner of a 2018 XLT 3.5 EB FX4 SCREW w/ a 6.5' bed and I've been a reservation holder for the Lightning since 5/20/21 and just wallowing in ignorance this whole time. Anyways, looking forward to chatting with everyone about all things Lightning, learning any new news that comes out about a new date to convert reservations to orders and anything else that there might be to learn about the potential performance and features.

Be Well.

Glad to have y’all here! I have a Mustang Mach E and have been very happy with the design, build quality, and customer service. Can’t wait to get a Lightning to match and be ICE-free.

Welcome to the forum @knot_another_won! What convinced you to place your reservation or the Lightning? Will you be replacing your XLT with it?

Hey RDale,

I am planning on trading in my XLT. I've had it less than a year but it's the first truck I've ever owned. Honestly, I'm head over heals in love with it, but the timing of the release of the Lightning hooked me hard.

I've been eyeballing hybrids and EVs for a while but I've always ended up favoring the utilitarian capabilities of a vehicle and I haven't seen anything come close to checking all the boxes until the recent run of pickups. I realized that I was finally in a place where the vehicle manufacturers have caught up with what I want out of a vehicle.
When I was looking at all of the options (Rivian, Cybertruck, Hummer, and Ford), they were all either ridiculously expensive, or just straight up ridiculous looking. Except the Lightning.

I don't typically drive long distance in a day and I tow/haul on an irregular basis and that's typically relatively short distances. Even though the range is a bit of an unknown, everything I've read seems like I won't have any issues with it

Bottom line, I'm excited for it to actually land. Whenever that is!

So, which trim and battery are you leaning toward ordering?

That sounds like the Lightning should be a great fit for you. Any idea on a color you'd order?

Did you consider the F-150 PowerBoost at all? It's gotten some great reviews so far. Or were you set on going in on an EV?
