I was just told by my dealer that the order I placed in April with deposit is now being moved to a 2023 and is about 10000$ more.

Is anyone else hearing this?

I called Ford Canada and they were no help, they said they can’t discuss pricing.

I just read this in Car and Driver Canada:

“The company points out that the price increases don't apply to current order holders who are awaiting delivery. However, it also notes that those who were invited to order but chose to extend their reservation because their desired specification wasn't available will now receive a private offer that can be used in one of the upcoming waves.”

Not sure what’s going on?

I just spoke with Ford Canada and they said if you have a sales agreement and don’t change anything the dealer has to honor the price.

You will get a 2022 model in 2023 but pay the 2022 price.

Ford also said you are better waiting on the 2022 because you will get it quicker than a 2023.

Hmmm I was contacted by my dealer and they said Ford told them my order had to be converted to a 2023 model and they are not building 2022 models going forward. Dealer sent me a new sales agreement BUT with a $12,000 dollar increase. They also stated I would not lose my place inline by changing my order.

Give ford a call and let me know what they say?

I’d be interested if you get a different answer.

I am hearing increases between $10k-$14k, XLTs being the latter - without scales and smart hitch…

and not sure if Ford is holding the price in Canada for placed orders or not - we have not heard anything officially from Ford Canada yet.

Yes I’ve been battling with my dealership about my pricing bc I had a signed piece of paper stating no additional dealer markups and I will only Be paying msrp, but when they tried to jack me around and raise the price 6 grand and throw fees in there, I presented that paper and they dropped it back down… long story short if they didn’t drop the price back down, I wouldn’t have a leg to stand on, bc that piece of paper does NOT hold up, and ford motor company said if it’s not a signed “PURCHASE AND SALES AGREEMENT “ then they can’t help in any way.. so get that “purchase and sales agreement” signed! If your dealership doesn’t want to give it to you like mine did, tell them your bank needs it to finalize your financing for the truck, even if your going to purchase it another way.. they won’t be able to do anything about it after you get that paper.

Same thing for me. Made my order on january 26th and was informed on monday buy my dealer that Ford can't produce my pickup and that I have to switch to a 2023 model order with an increased price of 12k$...

Decided to cancel my order.

I could also take my dealer to court but since it's not directly with him a have a problem, I decided not to do so.

Very disappointed with Ford on this matter.

I just came on here to write the same thing... pre-ordered last May, the day after the floodgates opened. Went into my dealership this January and signed a purchase agreement for a 2022. Was told that I was #18 and the list was progressing well. Random email the other day saying I should drop spray-in bedliner, power running board and covert to 2023. My ford.ca reservation site has been showing an error for the last few weeks. I emailed asking why the change and no response...it has been 2 days now. Very frustrating. I'm sure they just canceled my order or something.

I placed my order in April. I would have thought that a January order would have been early enough to be filled with a 2022. Anyway there is no indication that Ford Canada will do what’s right and price protect it’s 2022 orders that are filled with 2023’s so we bailed today and the dealer returned our down payment. So that’s that.

No I’m going to put some money in my old truck. I need something that can do some trailer towing anyway - further than the expected 160 km range of the Lightning. And instead of an electric truck I’ll replace the car with an electric.

I contacted the Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council (OMVIC) and explained the situation.

They said they would open up a case.

Here’s the number if anyone from Ontario Canada wants to contact them.
