Picked up my Lightning a few weeks ago.

Have been using for my work commute a few times a week, 250km round trip.

Also put to the towing test (5200lb dry trailer) this weekend - pulled amazing albiet range cut dramatically.
Welcome to the forum @cramercoulthart and congrats on getting your Lightning! How much of a range cut did you see when you towed your trailer?

When I hooked up the trailer my Lightning battery was at 88% charged.

I inputted my trailer data , weight/length/height etc and the range automatically adjusted to 220kms to E.

Once I hit the highway it adjusted again after a few kms to 170kms to E.

My trip was approx 75kms and when I parked the trailer I was 70kms to E. So definitely used additional power climbing hills etc.

I plugged in the truck overnight for a quick charge. What I found interesting was on my Ford Pass it said I plugged in at 44%.

Was curious if I reset the driving history if it would recalibrate my range to reflect the % of battery left.

Still adjusting to the anxiety of the battery range and sharing so people can learn from my experience.

Lariat smoked quartz tinted metallic. ER battery.

Took delivery in August and have about 3000 km on it. Still learning to manage range concerns (esp with cold weather temps starting) but better understanding how to interpret GOM and manage.

interested in others’ experience with cold weather‘s impact on battery and its range in the weeks ahead.

Beautiful truck! Color looks awesome.

I've put approx 4000 kms on my truck now, a variety of distances in various weather conditions.

My furthest distance was 340 kms, home to charger. Plugged in with 9% battery left. Talk about anxiety ! This was driving 100km/h and good driving conditions.

Since it's gotten colder in Manitoba, some days starting below zero I'm getting between 10-15% less efficiency from my batteries, perhaps more. Of course a big draw is using climate controls in the cab - a guy has to stay warm tho.

I haven't installed my Pro Charger yet. Have been using my mobile chord on a 240V plug 2 pole 40A breaker. Charger seems to be taking quite a bit longer in colder temps as well.

Again just my experiences. Happy to answer any questions if anyone has !

Thanks! I appreciate you sharing your experiences. I have the Pro charger in my garage and I find it charges pretty quick (not supercharger quick but with a 131 ER battery, I could see that taking a while plugging into a wall socket only)

I’m also finding that preconditioning the battery (Pre warning while plugged in + remote starting it through the app just before I leave the house, preserves some range — you can’t start it while plugged in sitting in the cab with the key, have to use the App)

using this pre warning process and remote start while plugged in before leaving the house doesn’t cause my GOM to plunge like it does when I drive from a cold start without it plugged in or pre warmed ).

unfortunately, I can only do this when I leave the house, at the office I don’t have this luxury and definitely notice lesser mileage efficiency on trips of similar duration under these different conditions (Cold, no pre-warming].With that said thinking about putting a post it over my GOM, I am finding it to be incredibly misleading.

still concerned & interested in seeing what Canadian winters do to range. I’d be very happy with 15% loss or even 25%, but I am anticipating some thing in the 40 to 50% range, this is not California!
