Probably not. Ford’s order page specifically says they aren’t transferable. However, give it a try. All you have to lose is time

Thank you, can the dealer put my name on the paperwork when the truck comes to dealership after production?
If not I may have to pay cash and get it on my friends name to not hit his credit as my buddy is trying to buy a home and I dont want to increase his debt to income ratio

You'll get probably get bogged down in the internal order verification/buyer/title audits.
IMHO, your best bet is to be upfront with the dealer and be willing to pay their ADM. Your friend's willingness to sign paperwork abandoning the order will probably be required. Even then, I doubt a dealer is going to give you first right of refusal to a truck going from confirmed/delivered order to an inventory Lightning. Well, unless you are willing to pay a higher markup than anyone else in their contacts.

Your best bet is to be honest. You're trying to run around about 180,000 reservation holders. You'll need to get out the checkbook and do business with the dealer.
From my address, no state EV incentives, 3.5% vehicle sales tax, qualified for federal tax credit, the dealer is offering you $10,000 of advantage right off the bat. If you're not the first person on the title, that's how much it would cost here. You lose the federal tax credit. Plus, this state collects sales tax and EV fees on every transfer.

Does he use his FORD.COM account for any other purpose, other car orders, financing, access & control of other vehicles?
If Yes, I think he is stuck, and the suggestions below should not be followed...... the MEMBER ID is the primary customer key that ties all his activities together!!!!!
If NO, then he could update his account access username & password to your email, update the Customer Name, address, phone and contact EMAIL to you.
Not 100% certain will work but if possible try it.

If I understand the first post he has only a reservation, not an order.... Correct?

Yes just a reservation, reserved on 05/19.
He used to have ford truck(s) but now he no longer have any ford.
Then possibly revising all the contact and access controls may work, eventually the offer to order would come to you and your contact details will match up during vehicle, order, build & delivery. Good luck with this experiment, I hope it works out.
