Ignore the order number. It is the time and date stamp that matters to Ford in determining where you fall. That is then influenced by dealer prioritization, and a dealer allocation that may involve whether you are in a ZEV state.Hey Steve, I’m in your situation as well and can’t tell and ford won’t clarify even though I’ve got an early res date of 5/21. Someone posted their res # who is first wave and by subtracting theirs from mine which is a huge assumption in sequence, cancels and whatever else, it APPEARS I could be 80,000 deep!!! On day 3! So good luck to all who want a first gen electric f150 like the whole 200,000 of reservation holders! Ray
Reservation Date | Number of Deliveries per Year | Total Deliveries | Model Year Produced |
May 19-20 (or maybe May 22) | 20,000 | 20,000 | 2022 |
Rest of May (perhaps early June) | 55,000 | 75,000 | 2023 |
June to ??? | 80,000-160,000 | 155,000-235,000 | 2024 |
Per and early February FDNB (Fleet Distribution News Bulletin), the updated timetable information has been released for the 2022 F-150 BEV LightningHi I am new to this site, any idea of build date based on the reservation #

I placed my order in wave 3 with a reservation date of 6/14/21 and I was not prioritized by my dealer. I am in NY and I was number 6 in line at my dealer but also the first one that actually put an order in. Not sure if this helps at all but it seems like it hinges a lot on how many orders your dealer had, and how many they are getting to sell.Ignore the order number. The Mustang Mach E was the first vehicle to use the online system. At that point it was the only vehicle using it. We were able to determine that Ford had at least 4, maybe 5 different systems assigning numbers simultaneously. Each of those was assigning from a separate set of 1000 numbers. Thus, 4998 was a much later order than 6002.
Now, the system is being used simultaneously for the Mustang Mach E, Maverick, F-150, and Bronco/Bronco Sport at least. They may be using it for every vehicle. The numbers are nowhere close to sequential on a given day. Month to month numbers will show an increase through time.
Your best bet is to think about when you reserved relative to Ford's announced numbers of reservations:
We are probably looking at a reservation to production comparison of:
- 20,000 in 12 hours (May 20)
- 44,500 in 48 hours (May 21)
- 70,000 in about 8 days (May 27)
- 100,000 in about three weeks (June 9)
- 150,000 in 4 months (September 16)
- 160,000 in just over 5 months (November 3)
- almost 200,000 - closed after 7 months (December 10)

People have been invited to order by waves. Most early wave invitations were to early reservation times but as stated above, it is also related to your prioritization at the dealer and other factors.
Yes, yours is one of the odd outliers. As you said, it comes from the difference between the national reservations (something I could model) and the reservations within dealers plus the conversion to orders (both of which I can't model).I placed my order in wave 3 with a reservation date of 6/14/21 and I was not prioritized by my dealer. I am in NY and I was number 6 in line at my dealer but also the first one that actually put an order in. Are you aware they have already sold out of the Pro trim for 2022? I think all the units available for regular customers were gone in Wave 1, then they announced no more Fleet orders for 2022.Never mind hoping to score a pro before the federal incentive limit kicks in! This truly becomes an exercise in futility at the 22 pricing announced.
5%? Oh hell no, MSRP or walk. People putting up with this nonsense is why dealers keep doing it.Another footnote to this whole mess of orders, dealers, prices and availability, who else is frustrated by this mark up weirdness? Changed my dealer after my original demanded 10% and I can only hope that ford will cancel their allotment! Dealers should make something but IF invoice and MSRP are synonymous, WHATS DO THEY GET? That’s why I got a signed purchase agreement for 5% elsewhere. Comments please!? Ray
I was on the same path for a Pro but when got my invite to order they were gone. Initially extended but after thinking more about it for a couple of days put my order in for an XLT and it was accepted.Never mind hoping to score a pro before the federal incentive limit kicks in! This truly becomes an exercise in futility at the 22 pricing announced.
I can't wait to see your build on the road. I'm up the street from you in Fulton. I was lucky enough to get invited to place my order on 4/12 with Apple Ford and I did just that. Can't wait for my Smoked Quartz Platinum...whenever that is!Build week emails finally coming out. You VIN will be in this email:
