I was lucky to get invited in the most recent April wave to order and got saddled with a dealer charging $7500 adm. After shopping around I found another dealer with a more reasonable fee structure. What was interesting was I changed my dealer and was able to successfully place an order for it and got confirmed by the dealer today.

For those who want to switch dealers, I was able to successfully do this and keep my allocation. Although the dealer I'm working with now did need to reach out to their Ford rep.

Wanted to keep people aware of the process as I'm sure others would want to do the same.

I did get stuck with errors on Ford's website to start but it worked out.

Always great to see this and hear the good news. It took a few months to truly know and confirm, but once you get the email is the time to change dealers, not before and don't try and wait til after you order, it is too late. However, once you have the email, the allocation is yours and it will move with you. Congrats on saving the $7500 and sticking the dealer for that plus the likely $8K to $10K they made just by charging MSRP sticker.

I wonder if you could shop your ok to order to the different local dealers to see which one is willing to make the least for hosting your sale. Dealer 1 is 7k over MSRP, dealer 2 may be at MSRP, but with the ok to order maybe there is a dealer out there that would take less than MSRP (I'm not sure on the actual numbers, but in this example dealer 1 wants to make 13k, dealer 2 wants to make 6k and maybe dealer 3, who is all out of allocation this year would settle for making 3 or 4k?).

I wonder if that allocation reduces that dealerships future allocation by one. So, you can carry it to any dealer, but that doesn’t punish and reward the Dealerships.

The dealer does not get another allocation to replace it with. They lose the allocation and the order.

It makes me extra Happy I made them lose out in business. You would think after attempting to negotiate with them on a lucrative sale the adm was none-negotiable. They even had it set to $2500 on the website but after calling me they laid the $7500 number on so that was pretty nice I didn't complete the order online with them.

I mostly posted this because I didn't see many people posting a definite path to complete orders with another dealer once they got the email to order.

Getting a Lariat ER. Exciting!!!

Ford's customer service line was helpful, they just told me to tell the dealer to reach out to their Ford rep for the area. It looks like she manually did mine on the corporate end. I received an email that said please enter your order by March 31st (was April 21st) to not miss out. After that I had no errors on the website and the dealer change showed up

Completed sales of MY22 product of which they just lost one, if not more, is the base line for how many MY23 allocations the dealer will get, I think they will suffer the consequences if more of their customers acted as AdmiralYams did.
