it will pop open a bit just like a traditional hood but it still sticks, almost like the latch mechanism doesn’t fully open up to allow it to open. It will not move at all with any of the buttons
Just to make sure, are you pulling the inside release a second time after releasing the primary latch to release the secondary latch?it will pop open a bit just like a traditional hood but it still sticks, almost like the latch mechanism doesn’t fully open up to allow it to open.
I’ll give it another shot and see if I’m missing something but I’ve been pulling it pretty thoroughlyJust to make sure, are you pulling the inside release a second time after releasing the primary latch to release the secondary latch?
Contact your dealer.Got my lightning 8 hours ago, frunk already won’t go up or down by any of the buttons. Anyone have any insight on how to fix? Had no problem all day and then it stopped working. Very frustrating!
Sorry to see you're also dealing with the frunk problem. Did you get a chance to do the update yet? Hopefully that does the trick. Keep us posted!
Glad you can get yours to latch/unlatch! Good luck with the repair. My Frunk is broken too. I press the button and it unlatched, but I have to manually open it. Same with closing, I need to push it down manually. The latch still works though. It started intermittent, but now the same thing every time. Going to the Dealer Friday. Hoping they have a fix.
UPDATE: The frunk control module is bad and the dealer ordered a new one. Won't come in until Nov if I am lucky. Crazy thing is that the frunk just started working again...can't explain it, but working perfectly now.My Frunk is broken too. I press the button and it unlatched, but I have to manually open it. Question: My Lightning says it is current and no updates available. I am missing many features like using phone for key and truck bed scales. Above you insinuate that somehow the customer can initiate an update. Can I initiate an update?Did you get a chance to do the update yet? Hopefully that does the trick. Keep us posted!
A good reason not to remove the Annoying Beeper. Besides communicating to you that it's ailing, the first thing the dealer would find as a cause would be the missing Annoying Beeper Module."six beeps of failure"
I am in my 4th trip to the dealer, they seem to be grasping at straws to fix it. They ordered a bunch of parts and said they will let me know when they come in. I am going on months with it broken. My frunk is failing now. It started this weekend and I have now had many times when I get the "six beeps of failure" (three double beeps actually). Now for the first time I've had it fail to open with the same six beeps and the error on the instrument panel "Frunk System Fault Service Required".

Exactly the same behavior on mine. They replaced one of the lift arms and that did not fix it. Now the control module and other arm are on order. The strange thing is that randomly, it will work perfectly, usually if I use the PaaK to open it. I think it is more software than mechanical. Here are two videos:
