Hello fellow Lightning owners.
Today is the blend day for my truck, its pretty exciting.
I have a question or two, as the terminology of the follow the build websites are unfamiliar to me:
How many modules are there in an average completed truck?
How long does it usually take for a truck to wend its way through the assembly line?
Does Ford send an email upon the completion of assembly?
Thanks in advance!

BLEND: the marriage of the assembled CAB/Truck onto the CHASSIS/Battery/Wheels
MODULES: many... they don't mean a whole lot to us non-technicals, it's just the 'chips' the truck uses for everything
BUILT: most have found it's about 7-10 days between Blend and Built status, I don't know why.
I would suggest that a truck is completed every 10 minutes, so why 'days' between Blend and Built is, well...
EMAIL: 'should', but not always, and mostly very dated, arriving well after something has actually happened

my truck was 'in schedule' for 229 days, from the moment of 'order' to it's actual 'received' date... that's over 7 1/2 months. Over 15 months from reservation.

My build date is 8/29 & blend 8/30. I believe I read somewhere that the build date indicates the week and the blend date is the actual stat of the build. Is that correct?

Blend is when the truck becomes a truck and the top meets bottom. The production week date is just the beginning of your build week. Actual Built date will come later after passing through QC, etc. if you have a spray in liner, it can take longer, though recently I have been reading that the liner isn’t taking nearly as long as before. We have seen some 8/1 and 8/8 production weeks already out for delivery. Each week seems to bring some more efficient/quicker turnarounds so who knows!

Lots. If you are using the module tracker, the important thing is watching to get a value next to the "Tear Tag". When you have a value there, all modules have been programed.

Does Ford send an email upon the completion of assembly?
Sometimes.

Hopefully they are ramping up production and getting their shipping together. Building the truck didn’t seem to an issue but getting to me sure did. I have a hard time believing I am going to pick my truck up Monday after all the shipping miscues.

I have been using "Ford Vehicle Order Tracking" page. Is the "Module tracker" different?
The modules will show you when your truck "comes alive." Go here for that.

The order tracker will just show the truck when it hits certain milestones and is always a day behind. It's not a live feed or anything like that.

Once your modules appear (it's a long list of a bunch of alphanumeric items) about two days later you will receive your "tear tag," this generally means that modules are done and your truck is off the assembly line and onto the next phase. What a couple of days and then go here to chat with Ford Customer Service and kindly ask for a location update and ETA. They will have something at this point.
