I am already thinking Spring and the best way to haul my bicycle and friends to the trails. I have a 2 bike hitch mount rack, but the Lightning is already so long I don’t want to leave that rack on the hitch all summer. Any good setups or racks for hauling bikes in the bed?

I also have a roll up tonneau cover - so would be great if it doesn’t interfere with that when rolled up.

Anyone done this?

My bed mount is a Cannondale. Here's the comparable Thule:

There are cheaper ones on Amazon:

and others if you don't want to take off the front wheel.

If you are looking for better gas mileage, keep the bike in the bed. A tailgate pad is cheap and great for mountain bikes and will provide better aerodynamics. For road, any mount that secures the front fork will work.
If I am on my own, I just lay my bike in the bed with a moving blanket to protect the bike from scratches.
