Benefit of Max Tow Package

I was listening to a pod cast over the weekend and they were talking about the benefit of the extra battery cooling for the max tow package. Their take was that even if you don't tow a lot this extra battery cooling is a benefit for everyday driving. Thoughts on if the max tow package is worth the extra $ if you don't tow often?

Would you mind sharing the podcast? I'd be interested to hear what they say about it. And I agree with the others...get it. I did and I'll never tow more than 4000# but got it for the resale and hoping that it cools whenever necessary...instead of tow mode only.

My point about the unknowns of Max Tow has nothing to do with towing, only as to what conditions the separate Max Tow A/C compressor and battery coolant circuit engages. It could easily be software locked to engage only when needed and when the truck is in Tow Mode. Or, it could cool your battery without using tow mode on a hot day, completely separately from your cabin A/C. Does this affect range when the cabin compressor would work adequately, as it does in trucks without Max Tow? When the Max Tow compressor engages, do both compressors always operate together? Also, it could engage while DCFC, without using your cabin A/C compressor at all. Does it?

I'm sure that the mysteries of Max Tow will be revealed someday. I've not seen any answers yet.
Totally agree with you on this. Nobody really knows if it’s always engaged or not. It would make sense to be intermittent (cooling isn’t always necessary). Otherwise, it’s sometimes less efficient than not having it.
