Is there a setting or toggle to get the bed lights to turn on/off automatically when opening the tailgate?
Noticed when I am loading my truck up in the dark I have to hunt for the button. all the trucks I have had before this have automatically done it

The bed light above the rear window that I've got seems like it's always on if I do anything like get out of the truck. You'd think the fancy tailgate would have the bed light setting you're looking for.

I'm still looking for a Dark Mode-like way to turn all the lights off and keep them off. There are a lot of places like campgrounds and stargazing where it would save a lot of embarrassment.

Look for Police Mode I think it is. I believe it can be enabled on other models using Forscan, I'm not sure if it can be on the Lightning or not. It is there for the Explorer and vehicles Ford sells as Police cruisers.

Thanks but I am specifically talking about these lights. Seems like they should come on automatically when opening the tailgate vs always having to find the button.

It seems like a no-brainer that these lights would turn on when opening the tailgate. This made me actually go check mine, but same issue. The inside lights DO turn on every time you open the doors. The frunk lights DO turn on every time you open the frunk. Why not the tailgate? (Another example of the frustrating controls that require multiple extra steps... like climate- tap to open fan speed then tap again to adjust, heated seats-tap to open menu-then tap again, viewing cameras (no dedicated button). I'm a little disappointed.
