I know there are a few Tesla owners here, have any of you (or anyone for that matter) sat in or listened to an existing F150 8 speaker B&O system compared to what Tesla is putting in the 3 and Y.

My 2014 F150 Sony stereo w/add on sub was pretty good, but didn't compare to the standard factory Tesla set up. I've always like B&O but generally understand that what they've put their name on here in the trucks isn't any comparison to their high end home gear.

Anyone have ears on comparisons?

I'm disappointed you can't get the B&O unleased in the lariat. I'm hoping the 8 speaker sounds good. I'll probably go to my local dealer and listen to the system.
I listened to it a bit at the DC Auto Show. The Lariat has a pretty impressive sound system.

How’s it compare to your Mach-E’s B&O system?
Hard to say on a brief listen but it sounded a bit richer in the driver's seat, probably because of the A-pillar tweeters.

Or in the headrest also?
The Lariat doesn't have the headrest speakers - that is only available in the Platinum. In post 4 he noted it was a Lariat he was in.

Agree with you wholeheartedly on this. I would have paid any price for the unleashed system. I am hoping later on down the road I can do some upgrades to the existing system. Hope it compares to my model 3 premium sound system.

I'm with you and that is the reason for starting the thread. Tesla has never disclosed who they work with (most note it is truly all done in house), but for a production car without a huge markup for a licensed/name brand sound system in their car they have killed it. It is well balanced, well tuned and has some real power. Plus their sound is all built right into one of the main computers I believe, not a lot of extra gear. Done very right, for the right price.

I'm truly afraid we are going to be very disappointed for what we get in an $80K truck.

Let me know what you think when you get yours. I'll do the same.

Thank you

Mine was built yesterday - Lariat, hope to have it in a few weeks. What do you have ordered and when is your build date?

My build date was week of
5/23/22.
My blend date was 5/25/22
I still haven't heard much about financing from ford also. I already have a pre-approval from my credit union but am hoping ford will come out with something better.

I triple agree. This will be my main car and if I’m disappointed in the sound I’m not sure what I would do. I’d be super apprenhensive about upgrading after market but I may have too.The fact that we could not upgrade the sound is my only major gripe.

I remember test driving a Benz SUV and was like this is a nice ride until I heard the sound. 🤢🤮 Thanks, but no thanks.

Any 80k vehicle should have 80k sound.

Anyone here have an update? I have an XLT 312A coming and am wondering what the sound is going to be like. I'm not really an audiophile, but I have pretty high expectations. Going to be pretty disappointed if it's any worse than my Mach E with the B&O....

I’m okay with sound (ER Lariat) but I do miss the 12 speaker set up my ICE Lariat had. Of the two, I like the sound from the ICE system better. The Lightning isn’t disappointing but there’s a certain richness or fullness I miss that those four other speakers gave.

I also think the system is a little on the quiet side. I don’t like it so loud that my ears bleed or anything; but as an Aspie who is sensitive to sound- I still find I have to turn this thing up to like 80% of max to rock out

I appreciate your honesty on this. I so understand that this is obviously a very subjective topic but it's good to get others perspective.

You’re welcome! I was thinking about this this morning, I’m also connecting via Bluetooth. I seem to remember that my ICE lariat was also quieter over Bluetooth than a direct connection.

The Bluetooth works so much better in the lightning than it did in the previous Lariat; however. So, if I can remember to I’m going to do a direct connect and then come back and tell you if I think that influences the sound quality. My gut instinct says that it will as you’re going to get some sort of degradation using BT/WiFi. That could be why I feel like the sound isn’t as rich and is quieter…
