My truck was parked in the sun all day while at work, probably around 100f outside temp. After turning it on and connecting my phone to the sound system there was only a really loud bass thumping sound, no music just bass. Every time I adjusted the volume a thump came out of the sub until the volume was all the way down. I tried restarting the system, restarting the truck and only connecting to Bluetooth instead of apple carplay. Nothing worked. Finally, after getting home, I parked in the shade and let the truck interior cool down for around 30 minutes. The cool down seemed to fix the problem and it has been fine today. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this and know what’s causing it? Seems like the stereo doesn’t like being overheated, but I never had this happen with past cars. I have the platinum lightning with upgraded b and o sound system. Thanks!

I don’t see the problem, who needs anything but bass 😂.

But seriously, the only issue I have had with my sound system was at one point the reverse beep played through the front speakers of the truck for like 10 seconds and then stopped. It was a weird glitch but not sure what happened.

It may not truly matter - but Lariat or Platinum - 8 speaker or 18?

Which means Ford needs to implement Cabin Overheat. Run the AC to keep the cabin somewhere down closer to 100 to 110. Protect the electronics a bit.

@Ford Motor Company

I complained about this on the app store.

I’m hoping that in future OAU Ford will do as Tesla and allow you to crack the windows from the app on the phone and even have a fail safe temp monitoring system that turns on the AC when he temp reaches a predetermined set point.

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

I have a plug in titanium and when it gets hot, the head unit starts to act up, the fan for the head unit starts to make alot of noise but the techs swear they cant find the problem. seems to be an issue with these bigger screens. Ford needs to look at better cooling options for these kinds of things. Side note. I live in the Nevada desert, we will be between 110 and 116 this week

It seems simply to be heat. Simple solution if Ford can be nimble enough to implement it.

If its heat related, a good set of window guards (to keep the windows slightly cracked on hot days) and ceramic window tinting may reduce the heat enough the keep the malfunction from happening as well
