Why can't there just be ONE dedicated climate screen to adjust everything? We have a 15-INCH massive screen, yet only tiny sliders at the very bottom for climate. This requires opening THREE different menus/screens/sliders: one for temp, a different one for fan speed, and different one for face/feet/defrost.

This is the one thing that I like about non-physical controls - The CAN be updated in OTA updates and could offer users multiple layouts if they wanted to (or perhaps even custom user model “hacks” in the future). If they are physical only you are pretty much STUCK with their orientation. As an IT professional - this “updatability” is one of the features that makes EV’s appealing to me.

while I have the PRO with 12" landscape screen, and physical temperature control, which I prefer, I have a similar dislike for the 'multiple screens' required to do something that would seem, to the common person, as SIMILAR activities - such as the 'Auto Hold', which is on an different icon/"driver assistance" screen than the 'One Pedal' driving, which is part of the "drive modes" screen - although they are certainly very 'similar' types of features that one would think would be an easy choice to put on the same screen.
I DO like that I have a dedicated "custom" icon that can be used to be quickly access a specific screen that you'd like to use often, but since these two 'brake/stopping/hold' features are on different screens, you can't us the "custom" for both at the same time, if you like to toggle them on/off depending on your driving, in traffic, or not, etc.

Maybe, Ford, give us SEVERAL customizable 'icons' to save our fav screens...
and COMBINE all the Audio/Phone/Apps/Settings into a SINGLE icon...maybe.

1) Auto should be on or off...nothing intuitive about 3 levels of "AUTO".
2) Why is there no OFF button. I have to navigate to the fan and move the slider to off.
3) When in reverse, you cannot turn off the fan...only up or down. Its a bug

I like the three step auto, limits max fan speed to low/medium/high while automatically trying to control temp. Allows you to keep in auto without having to turn the fan down if you don't want it blowing.
Off button would be nice.
I don't know how much time you spend in reverse, usually I am not trying to back up and adjust climate at the same time. Note that physical off button would also solve this issue.

The three position Auto is the same on My Expedition, except there its a physical button. I think this is a reasonable solution for an Auto HVAC control.

My Expedition also has three position buttons for heat/cool seats, which is far easier to use than the slider on my 15” screen.

believe it or not, it's even worse than you think - the Mach-E has the slider for seat temperature but only heated seats (ventilated is not an option)... it offers an 'auto" setting for the seat heaters that works well, a setting that we don't have in our "fancier" vehicles. I miss it in a way I didn't realize I would.

I LOVE the auto control, it’s super intuitive and I immediately went in to adjust - finally a way to control how loud I want the fan to get. In my case it’s always set to low…

Ford's "Auto" fan levels are kind of hilarious. There are 7 levels of fan speed. The "Auto" levels correspond to levels 1, 2, and 3, not low, medium, high.

A thinking GUI person might wonder: "could we have that Auto "button" go all the way up to 7, instead of just 3?"

That way a driver actually trying to keep eyes on the road, could just tap the general area of "fans" and get it where they want it. Kind of like physical controls.

Unfortunately, the 2 levels of the interface appear to have been coded by different committees that do not talk to each either. Much less to the other committees of each of the 3 current parts of the climate control system. Instead, they seem to only have no real relation to each other.

Or put another way, it's dumb. But employs lots more people, so I guess there's that.

The climate controls are much better with PowerUp 4.1.2. You can use the volume knob to adjust temperature, fan speed, seat heat/cool. You can also cycle through seat heating levels using multiple taps on the button.
