I have a quick question for the owners in the group. I apologize if this has been asked previously. I did a quick search but didn't find anything.

My brother recently took deliver of his Lightning. He was told by the dealer that if he needed to have it towed it would need to be on a flatbed (understandable) but additionally that he would need to secure it by strapping down the four wheels. He was told that he couldn't use other points like the tow hooks or trailer hitch to secure the truck because it could flex the batteries underneath, causing them to break/crack/fail/whatever else.

That seems odd, especially for a vehicle that will go off road, over bumps, and so on. I checked with my local dealers who hadn't heard this.

Is this legit? Anything you've all been told, read, or heard?

It is bad practice to secure any vehicle on flat transport by the tow hooks and/or trailer hitch. It puts forces on them they were not designed for, could damage the vehicle or worse, set it loose. This is not unique to the Lighting.
