Do a little research before you commit. First off if Sunrun does not do business in VA you are stuck. Let me explain: The Ford Pro Charger is NOT a true bidirectional charger. It only exports DC from the Truck. The Sunrun Integrated Inverter is required to Invert the DC from the Truck to AC for your home. The Integrated Inverter is available in a 10kW size but you cannot buy it unless Sunrun does business in your state and they design and install the whole system. With that said the Sunrun Integrated Inverter has four DC connects for four strings of solar panels. A connect for Truck DC in and out. A connect for Battery DC in and out and a connect for AC in and out. To get started:
AEE Express- The online store of AEE Solar, wholesale distributor of solar products and equipment - Sunrun Home Integration System (required to enable Ford Intelligent Backup Power)
You can buy it if Sunrun isn't in your state, I found a loophole.
You have to go through the sign in process, and they will show you a single product, E4_BDI inverter.
If you click on "cart", it will take you to an empty cart, with a button that says continue shopping.
You will then see the inverter with a button that says view options, this will then give you the option to order the E4, E6, E8, or E10_BDI products for the same price.
The biggest downfall to this is that you may have to change your service, due to the "on-grid" rating of 9600 kW, in many cases you will need a bus rating higher than your service, i.e. 225A "solar ready" meter base for a 200A service, this is where you need to get your electrician involved, as this can significantly change your installed cost.
