Thank you for your input. I thought this was a classified ad space and we lived in a free market world. If you don’t want the truck, fantastic. Live long and prosper. But I don’t feel as though it is necessary to belittle anyone on this forum. I bought the truck with 87 miles at a dealership 100+ miles from my house (because this was the only dealer without a markup). I fully intended for this to by my truck for the next 10+ years, just as my previous truck had been. But once I figured out the towing range is approx 100 miles and I tow my boat 200 miles to the keys…it doesn’t make sense. This truck is perfect for “normal” driving. But for my use it is less than perfect. So I listed the truck for the going rate. If someone wants to offer less, that’s how the market works. But we don’t need to insult each other. If the truck doesn’t sell, I’ll keep it. End of story.

So let me get this straight: you bought a truck that everyone and their moms said was going to be suboptimal specifically when towing long distances, from a dealership 100 miles away, specifically because that dealership was not adding an insane markup, and now you're unhappy with it because it can't tow far enough for you, and you're trying to sell it used with an insane markup. Is that correct? Because if so, then there's probably going to be no sympathy here for you.

I didn’t ask for your sympathy, nor your input on the listing. You seem to feel the need to vent. Fantastic. You are entitled to your opinion, and I respect that. Others may feel differently. That is how the market works. If you aren’t in the market for a USED truck, why are you trolling this classified forum???

The link showed up on the main page: no Trolling the used forum.
you have a sad story indeed, and the free market allows you to charge whatever you can get paid.
the problem I think you are going to run into here TBuck, is this is a forum of enthusiats who have obsessively reserved early, and weren’t fortunate enough to get the golden ticket. I check this page regularly for news and updates to quell my excitement for when The day eventually comes that I get to order it, and then wait another 6 months fornit to get built, all while blasting past the $7500 tax credit threshold.
you got that opportunity and are looking to cash in in front of us.
Poor form bud, regardless of the whole story.

I hadn’t seen that perspective, and really do appreciate how well you put it. I too was very excited about this truck and can see how it could indeed be seen as poor form on my part. I will try to remove this post.
Don’t remove the post, the thing I didn’t realize is that you were posting in a forum for selling your truck, entirely appropriate.
It just popped up on my main page, and I was excited to read about another Lightning owners experience. I was finally able to simply test drive it for the first time yesterday, and the whole family is out of their eyeballs excited.
I am sorry to hear how limited the towing is. 100 miles towing your boat really does seem to nerf what this truck is supposed to be able to do. That marketting video of the lighning towing a huge camper in the mountains uphill probably clipped out the charging stations on either side of the video frames.
Anyway, good luck on the sale, sorry to hear it didn’t work out for you. In southeast florida, you should have no problems finding someone with the expendable cash to take it off your hands. Lucky for them, they won’t have to resort to forum stalking for an extra year to get to experience it.

You’re not doing anything wrong. You’re posting in the right forum and can sell your truck if you want, we live in a free country. I’m excited and intend on keeping my truck, but for the right offer I would sell it too. Same thing goes for any property I own
