Picked up my 2023 Lariat ER a little over a week ago. I was still on the waiting list to order one but got lucky when someone who ordered one decided not to take it and the dealer started calling down his list of reservation holders ... Anyway, I'm very happy with the truck and its features so far; I have the same issues with waiting for the Pro Charger (still waiting); had to buy a power cord on eBay and install a 50 amp plug in my garage. All good for now, but I will likely install the pro charger when I get it. Biggest concern/question I have is the software issue with the 2023. I'm told there is a problem that prevents FordPass from connecting with my truck and we're waiting on the fix that will automatically download from Ford this month. Anybody have any updates on this? How will you know when the issue has been fixed? Just keep trying to connect FordPass to the truck? Any insight appreciated ....

When I took delivery, FCP wouldn’t work. Many calls and time later, Ford’s solution was to wait until a fix comes via an OTA update. 3 days later it started working and a week later stopped working again. When you also own a Tesla it’s frustrating to deal with this crap.

Has your truck ever communicated with Ford Pass?

Couple of solutions for common problems. Yes, Ford is behind Tesla when it comes to coding, but hopefully less glitchy with more updates.

There are threads with issues with updates if the 12v is not fully charged. Get a trickle charger for the 12v.

if you need to reset the truck (it might be necessary if the modem is not communicating). Soft reset: at the same time hold volume down and forward/next on the steering wheel. Hard reset: pull fuse that controls the modem or just pull the 12v battery.

Thanks for the reply. No it has never communicated with FordPass. I've seen the posts on the 12V battery but have not done anything with that yet other than checking to make sure it was at 12+V. When I was on the phone with Ford (Help number for FordPass) they mentioned they could see the settings on my truck. I assumed this means the modem is working? If not, perhaps I will try that reset you mentioned.

Congratulations and welcome to both the forum and Lightning ownership.

Success - It connected to FordPass today! I did do the battery disconnect thing last night but nothing seemed to happen then. But this morning, I logged out of the FordPass app and logged back in (which I had done many times before) and it worked!
It’s usually a temporary fix. There is a good chance the app will stop working after days or maybe a week. That seems to be the pattern with forum members affected with this problem. My truck is going in for TSB 23-2050 Gateway Module.
