Hello,

I wanted to post to see if anyone else is noticing that if you change default settings on the Settings in the -15” display in the truck and save them, the changed settings seem to get lost and revert to their original. Has anyone else noticed this?

Examples of settings changes that do not get retained after changing:

  1. It happens in the “Ford Assistant“ module - I have setup “listen for wake word” and “advanced mode” a number of times and it seems to randomly revert back to factory defaults.
  2. It happens in ”General > Clock” - I prefer the “24-Hour Mode” and I have set it to use that several times but it randomly reverts to standard 12 hour clock mode.

  3. In the “Driver Assistance > Rear View Camera Delay” - I have set this to ”On” several times but it reverts to “off” randomly.
I will give the link to this post to one of my contacts at Ford but wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing similar issues with default settings just randomly coming back after you have changed them.

Let me know, thanks!

Theory: you are setting up your preferences in one profile and not seeing them when you use another profile, which is probably guest mode. I notice similar behavior when I use the keypad to open the door. It reverts to guest mode. Pressing the seat memory button attached to the desired profile or using the fob assigned to the desired profile will set your profile on the sync screen.

In the screenshot you posted it appears you are in guest mode based on the head and shoulders icon in the upper right corner.

Good observation - I will check that the next time - but that does bring up another question - I had my phone as a key phone in the car which is associated to my profile - wonder why it did not see that?

I had PaaK for a while before I realized I had to go into my profile to authenticate the same PaaK phone associated with my profile to stop it from reverting to Guest every time. I ASSuMEd that it would associate with the key fob used to authenticate it on initial setup. 🤷‍♂️

But how did you open the door? When I use my keypad it reverts to guest even if my profile fob is used to start the truck. Sadly, I can't opine on how PaaK works as I haven't received the update yet.🥺

Edit: I wonder if it's possible to associate a keypad code with a profile. That would be useful.🤔

One issue I have is that when I use precabin or start vehicle remotely, it defaults back to guest profile and doesn't stay on saved profile. Almost every time. 🤷‍♂️
Based on what I've read in the owner's manual I believe the only ways to recall a profile are:

1. Unlock doors with a phone (FirdPass) linked to a profile.

2. Unlock doors with a fob linked to a profile.

3. Press a memory function button associated with a profile.

4. I assume using your PaaK to unlock doors will recall a profile too but I don't see it explicitly mentioned in the OM and I don't have the feature yet.

The keypad doesn't recall a profile unfortunately.
