Anyone experiencing random active air dam fault.

Generally it pops up and then goes away as you slow down from cruising speed down to the 50s

I have the air dam fault as well. Dealer has parts ordered, I’ll update this when they get them in/fix it.
Mine has been giving me the, "Active Air Dam System Fault" a few times a week. Has anyone visited a dealer about this issue? If so what was the fix? Thanks
Just saw my dealer. Active air dam warning comes on when its below freezing and I'm driving over 55mph. its a sporadic and brief warning. First time the service manager had heard of it. Nothing wrong with the air dam or motors. He suggested lots of undercarriage washing. I am in a snow, salt and dirt area. He demonstrated the dam going up and down while it was on the lift. 15 minutes after leaving the warning came on again.

ford should deactivate the warning unless it stops responding for longer period time?

Part came in for mine. New motor, installed in less than an hour this afternoon. This lives on the passenger side, just inside the wheel well. The other side of the dam just rides in a channel, so I assume rocks/mud/grim/whatever could impede it pretty easily.

Do you have any way to install a camera to watch to see if the air dam is extending and retracting properly? That might help to decide if it is a sensor error or an actual air dam mechanical issue.
my feeble 'camera' view of the Active Aero Dam deployment in action....

I have over 16,00 miles on my 22 Lariat ER. I get the Active Air Dam Fault almost every time I drive it, even after an under carriage car wash. My dealer checked it out and says it's working fine so it must be a software issue. So I'm hoping for an eventual update. I know Ford pays attention to this forum so we'll see what happens. BTW I love the truck and the only other issues are software bugs. Very minor.

i have about 4 times a day maybe more
I have found that I get it once per drive once I reach highway speed.
My issue cropped back up recently as well. Took it into the shop yesterday, again. He cleaned it up and re programmed the motor I guess, and havent seen the warning since.

Mentioned this at my 10,000 mile check up and was told there is a software fix coming out on this and that no action was necessary.....
