Do you have any way to install a camera to watch to see if the air dam is extending and retracting properly? That might help to decide if it is a sensor error or an actual air dam mechanical issue.

Anyone experiencing random active air dam fault.

Generally it pops up and then goes away as you slow down from cruising speed down to the 50s
Most active dams/shutters retract <50mph. So, if the system fails to close the way it should over 50, you would get the notice. Once you drop back below the threshold the error would go away.

My active air dam fault warning is showing after an extended drive on freeway when it comes to a slow down. However the warning/fault doesn't stick around. My suspicion is that air dam is not retracting fast enough causing the system is throw on and off errors.

Still need to figure out if it's the grill shutters throwing error or the retractable air diffuser having issues.

As Coral suggested, getting a camera on them to observe the operation would be fantastic... if you are able, be sure to post the vids, I would love to see the system at work!

Youtube has a few people showing how their active aero works at variable positions from speeds 40mph and above. It's the same system on the ICE F-150 model as well.

Inspected my active air dam (aka air blade). It was cracked by road debris. I am surprised that the actuators are cheaper than the plastic air blade.
This blade drops down 3 inches at freeway speed so it will not clear anything. It's actually pretty easy to replace 3 bolts on each actuators

Just to add, I got the warning the first time today (8900 miles). Actually came on at highway cruise speed - no slow down. Didn't reappear. The extension was retracted when I parked.

I always thought this would probably be the first electronic issue. (the active grill shutters were the first issue I had with a previous RAM EcoDiesel).

had it flash on today myself but I must admit I have no idea what we are talking about here?
Behind the front air dam below the truck, is a second longer piece of air dam that drops closer to the road at speeds above 40 mph (in non-off road modes) for improved aero. It has electronic actuators that lower and raise the unit as needed. I think it is standard on all 2021+ F-150s.

It will definitely be suspectible to damage if you run over a tire tread aka rubber dog or similar. There are tons of stories on the web about it including this from Cars.com with their Hybrid F-150.

Mine has been giving me the, "Active Air Dam System Fault" a few times a week. Has anyone visited a dealer about this issue? If so what was the fix? Thanks
