Anyone experiencing random active air dam fault.
Generally it pops up and then goes away as you slow down from cruising speed down to the 50s

Most active dams/shutters retract <50mph. So, if the system fails to close the way it should over 50, you would get the notice. Once you drop back below the threshold the error would go away.Anyone experiencing random active air dam fault.

My active air dam fault warning is showing after an extended drive on freeway when it comes to a slow down. However the warning/fault doesn't stick around. My suspicion is that air dam is not retracting fast enough causing the system is throw on and off errors. Most active dams/shutters retract <50mph. As Coral suggested, getting a camera on them to observe the operation would be fantastic... if you are able, be sure to post the vids, I would love to see the system at work!My active air dam fault warning is showing after an extended drive on freeway when it comes to a slow down. Still need to figure out if it's the grill shutters throwing error or the retractable air diffuser having issues.
Youtube has a few people showing how their active aero works at variable positions from speeds 40mph and above. It's the same system on the ICE F-150 model as well.As Coral suggested, getting a camera on them to observe the operation would be fantastic... if you are able, be sure to post the vids, I would love to see the system at work!
Thanks for posting. This is bound to be a popular part. This blade drops down 3 inches at freeway speed so it will not clear anything.
Behind the front air dam below the truck, is a second longer piece of air dam that drops closer to the road at speeds above 40 mph (in non-off road modes) for improved aero. It has electronic actuators that lower and raise the unit as needed. I think it is standard on all 2021+ F-150s.had it flash on today myself but I must admit I have no idea what we are talking about here?
Happens every day, especially slowing down from highway speeds.Anyone experiencing random active air dam fault.

Sounds like a warranty repair.Happens every day, especially slowing down from highway speeds.
Mine has been giving me the, "Active Air Dam System Fault" a few times a week. Has anyone visited a dealer about this issue? If so what was the fix? Thanks
My first post. Also had the “Air Dam warning “. But couldn’t find in the manual. Drove 30 miles in falling snow, I think it probably interferes with the operation of the damhad it flash on today myself but I must admit I have no idea what we are talking about here?
