The Owners Manual (online) says under "ChargingYour Vehicle" - - "Charging Hints" that if you charge on DC (I believe this means fast charging) , it is best for the battery that you only charge to 80% as as general practice. The manual does not say whether it makes any difference whether you charge to 80 or 100 % regularly if you are AC charging (like you would do at home with the Ford or Tesla wall charger.

My question is therefore, is it ok for my truck to regularly charge at home to 100% ? In case it matters, my Lariat is an ER '22 mannequin.

Second question: if I charge at a public charger, EA, CP, or at a 7 kw free (and generally very slow) charger at my local park or brewery, how do I know whether the charger is AC or DC?

Third question: When my Ford Siemens wall charger finally arrives, what information will it give me that I don't get using a Tesla High Power Wall charger?

I do own a 6 year old Tesla MS 90d with lifetime free supercharging, and only charge it above 80% if I am about to immediately drive far enough bring it down to below 80%. My full charge used to read 292 when the car was new but now it has dropped by maybe 10%. I believe this to be normal, and likely it will stabilize about like that.

No EV should regularly charge to 100%. Could have sworn manual recommends 90%. For DC fast charging, charge curve drops rapidly over 80% and even more at 90%. So only do that if you absolutely need the range. Start binging Tom M. State of Charge videos to bone up.

As for dc vs ac charging, anything over 20kwh is DC. On plugshare ap, they are orange.

Ford recommends around 90%
Several threads on these topics already.

I do like that you almost led with a brewery!
It sounds like you need to watch this:

Yes, your Guess-o-meter is getting used to your driving style. Before you trust the Guess-o-meter too much, you might want to read this, too:

The latest DTE update completely changes how the GOM works, so new truck coming from Ford will not match the observations from last year, and as the older trucks get updated they are changing to the new behavior. To me it seems to be reconfigured to behave like a Tesla.
Now You Know on YouTube just posted a video with a good explanation of the old Ford GOM vs Tesla. Beware, they are hardcore Tesla Fanboys, but this video is actually pretty good if you watch the whole thing. The 1st few minutes are frustrating, since they act like they are not familiar with the Lightning.

Agreed. We're still figuring out just how different the new GOM is from the old one. However, that link to the GOM thread discusses items that don't change like using the navigation to estimate total real-world range and using your efficiency and battery to calculate range.

I regularly charge to 100% with my LFP EV and it’s actually recommended by the manufacturer. There are multiple reasons Ford wants to go LFP besides the cost savings.

Do you have the link to the Now You Know video you mentioned? Couldn't find it on their channel...
