One week into my Lightning and I've already got a bunch of questions. Certainly influenced by the fact I had a Mach E GT for 3 months prior to now so have a bit of familiarity with the touchscreen and syncing. Would love any advice!

-Is there any way to have the truck lock automatically after walking away or some period of time? It was a feature on the Mach E and I've gotten so accustomed to it I leave it unlocked every. single. time.
-Might be a common issue in F150's but the center rear seat headrest blocks most of the view behind you in the rearview (made worse by the mirror I have around it to watch my 2 yo in his car seat). Is there a good aftermarket rearview mirror folks have swapped in with a camera?
-I saw a video where on the XLT or Pro trims you can save a single favorite on the smaller touchscreen. I'd love to have the trip calculator as a favorite (or even better- is there a way to show the % of battery left on the main touch screen?)
-My memory of trucks as a kid had grip handles inside the door frame but now I understand there's an airbag there which would be problematic. Anyone found an aftermarket solution to pulling my fatas$ in the cab more easily? If not what's the best step attachment to throw on there?
-Finally (and thanks for sticking with me to this point), is anyone having issues with charging occurring during times you set it to avoid? In CA it's super expensive to charge during 4-9pm and no matter how many times I reset it from the app or the touchscreen it will continue to charge whenever connected until I hit stop.

Just ordered the Ready2lift 2" leveling kit and will share pics soon...

Here is a link from someone who had a similar issue with charging…and their work around.

I don’t have answers to the other questions.

I had the same issues last night, although it has worked for several nights before... I set the 'home' location to 11pm to 7am charging. I plug in the EVSE. It immediately starts charging, although it's 5pm. I unplug, and replug and try again. Same. I go into the truck to check the screen to see if it is still 'scheduled'...it is. I go into the App, and yes, it is too. No reason 'why' it continues to charge outside of the schedule... crazy.

Then, I realize that I have the truck 'ON'. I had been using ProPower, which REQUIRES the truck to remain on. O.k., but if the truck is 'ON', and you then plug in, it will IMMEDIATELY start charging..... BUT, if you turn the truck 'OFF', then plug in, it will go into 'scheduled charging mode' after a few seconds, even though it still 'looks' like it's starting the charge. The blue rings are active for a few seconds or so before it then stops, and scheduling pauses it. I then can turn the truck back 'ON' to restore ProPower.

This reveals two things that FORD needs to address: Charge Scheduling ease, and ProPower CONSTANT power.

A) Charge Scheduling should be easy. It should NOT be complicated. There should be a SINGLE button or onscreen button to PRESS to simply put it into it's upcoming Schedule, REGARDLESS of whether the truck is ON, or OFF. The APP should provide the same option, although I have seen several good 'resume schedule', and 'charge to 100%' options in the app, but they may not operate or respond as you might assume.

B) ProPower works fine, although Ford says that you 'must' have the truck 'ON' in order for it to operate. I'm not sure why, though - any power output should work, regardless. I understand the 'risk' of using ProPower and sapping the battery pack, but the truck already has it's own protection measures for that - it gives you the ability to restrict the battery pack's output down to a certain number of 'miles', which I would guess is while you are traveling, but it SHOULD give you a 'percentage' of battery pack power, instead, such as 20%, 'just in case' you forget the ProPower is on, or you simply want to use that as the measure of 'when' to turn off ProPower, such as during a long power outage.
I have noticed that ProPower turns OFF automatically, regardless of any battery level restriction, when the 'scheduled charge' reaches 100%. If I had not checked the truck at 5:30am, I would have never known.
I have no idea why. It doesn't do that if the scheduled charge is only 90%: it reaches that charge level, stops charging, and keeps ProPower and the truck 'ON'. When I asked it, thru the app, to continue charging to 100%, though, it reached that at 5:30am, and then turned the truck 'OFF', which also turned off ProPower. STRANGE. Why??

FORD: Create a much simpler 'CHARGE NOW' button, and 'CHARGE BY THE CURREN SCHEDULE' buttons. Make it simple. period. It shouldn't be this complicated.
Allow ProPOWER, and the truck, if required, to stay on, CONSTANTLY, without regard to charging completion, or anything else, except the owner's own 'restriction' of battery level input.

I really hope they add walk-away lock in a software update. I've been driving my Mach E for over 18 months and love it.

I really don't understand why Ford made the center rear headrest so it cannot be removed. I removed the headrest in the center-rear seat of the Mach E for the same reason. Edit: you have to push buttons on both posts. It's out now.

Toggle the instrument screen to jump between these screens. Current trip is there. So is the Calm screen with %SOC.

Are you using the handle on the A-pillar?

Hmmm, I removed the center rear headrest. Push in the little tab on the bottom of one of the posts. Lifts right off. (I store it under the rear seat in case I need it)

Thanks! I pressed one button but it wouldn't come out. I just tried again and found there' a button on the other post. It's off now and stored under the seat.
