I ordered this FITCAMX Dash Cam and received it today. It's powered by the harness that plugs into the back of the rear view mirror. It took me less than 5 minutes to install and looks super clean. You can access the videos through WIFI with the phone app. It took a week to get here from China. So far I highly recommend it!

Interesting, looks like a good fit. It seems strange with all the cameras on the higher level trucks, the videos are not stored for the last several minutes of driving (before the accident).
For sure. Sentry mode would be amazing, maybe in a future software update. But even the Mach E doesn't have it yet, so all we have at the moment are dash cams to record.

I just received the camera and installed it in my Lightning, however I'm not sure what to do with the thumb drive. Does it go in the side of the camera? My Mac computer doesn't recognize the 2.0 drive so I can't format it. I have a 3.0 do you know if that will work? Thanks for any answers you can provide.

Mac guy here, too. I installed FITCAMX on Friday. In the right side, as installed, is a MicroSD card. Push-in to release, it will snap out to where you can pull the tiny card out. Then, the card goes into the SD card reader supplied with the camera that looks like a thumb drive. Plug it into a USB-A port on a Mac. It worked flawlessly for me. You can also use the app.

I really appreciate the original post that pointed to this camera that looks like an OEM part of the Lightning!

Yeah, its just an sd card reader, not a thumb drive. I have never even used it, I just use the wifi app on my phone. It works great for accessing the videos. It's a little slow to download, but does the job.

I’m having trouble connecting to the camera’s wifi. The power light is flashing red. I followed the troubleshooting steps but I still can’t connect, their wifi isn’t showing up. I sent an email off to their support team.

Well just for the record the trouble I had with the camera’s wifi was my error. Actually except for my mistakes the installation was easy and the camera works great.

I ordered the FitcamX as well and installed it today.

The camera comes with the usual limited instructions but has a QR code with a great video -- for the front camera. There were no instructions at all for the rear camera. The longest part of the install was snaking and hiding the wire to re rear camera. The second longest was finding a screw that would work because they forgot to send me the 10-24 x 5/8" screw to mount the bracket to the mirror.

The rest was simple.

Is it possible for this set-up to remain powered on while parked?
Is anyone using Pro Power Onboard to power cameras while parked?
You can get a wiring harness that taps into an always-on fuse instead of the easy installation in the mirror that is only on when the truck is.
