Has anyone tried to use the onboard 220 power to supply a house basically as a backup generator. I have a backup generator I use which uses a standard generator plug. Disconnect house main and ur powers the whole house. If I do the sane thing with the 220 onboard power I get an error and it turns off the power to the 220. I think it said it was a gfi error fault
Anyone have luck trying this

Yeah basically there’s two solutions:
  1. Switch to a GFCI generator compatible transfer switch which will switch the neutral and ground from the house to the truck. These come in the form of sub panels so you have to choose exactly which circuits can be powered by the generator
  2. Disconnect the ground from the truck to the panel. You can do this at the cord, at the inlet, or at the panel

the first approach is the officially recommended way. The second approach has been used by many owners of the Hybrid and Lightning and there’s been back and forth debate on whether it’s unsafe. It’s probably worth consulting your own electrician on this
