I believe we are running out of buyers for vehicles over 55k and definitely over 65k. Lagging effects of the Feds QT is starting to show up in the used/new car market. Dealers are finding ways to make additional money despite MSRP and lower pricing. Interest rates above 4% and 72-84 mos seem to be the new normal. Manufacturers/Dealers are increasing destination fees, dealer conveyance, and adding bogus vin etching fees. I anticipate many people walking away from their $700+ car loans this year. End of summer should be a good time for deals.

In December, Ford Motor Company average transaction pricing rose by 3.2 percent, month-over-month, from $55,413 to $57,170. Record high transaction prices is causing an affordability crisis. This is not going to turn out well for those overextending themselves financially to buy expensive vehicles. Companies will continue cutting jobs in 2023. Unemployment rate has to go up, for the Fed to stop QT.
