Thank you for comments in advance. Please let me know what the optimal fast acceleration may be for the 0-60 in 4 seconds Lightning? I ask because using the cruise control + toggle going 25 to 75 on a freeway onramp feels like fast acceleration and it may be optimal for the vehicle. I've seen nothing in the vehicle manuals.

So is that optimal for everyday driving or is it too fast with potential slight adverse wear of the vehicle - hopefully the former? I've not seen anything in online or other manuals about this acceleration challenge - naturally I love going as fast as possible!

Please define "optimal" fast acceleration. Just like any vehicle, harder stresses like wide-open-throttle cause more wear and tear than gentler driving. It is also much less efficient.

BEVs have less things that can wear, but they still do. Tesla initially limited the amount you can do launch mode (after a certain amount they dropped the power on future ones) to prevent premature wear on motor and powertrain. Unless you are flooring it every opportunity you get, I’m pretty sure the battery will go first. I never had any issues with my hybrids (Prius and Camry) or BEVs (leaf and clarity) when it came to powertrain. Both my hybrids had battery failures, luckily before 8 years. No mechanical issues or battery issues with BEVs, other than the 12v going dead on the leaf.

I did have a lead foot when I initially got into my BEV. I was loving the instant torque too much and burned through my tires at 20k.

I'd guess that the biggest wear items are half-shafts, bushings, other suspension components. On that assumption, launches from stop seem like the worst case scenarios for wear.

I've had a ridiculous amount of fun within the speed limit with my truck. My kids shout "go fast!" as I pull out of the neighborhood and from 5-55 all I can hear are screams and giggles because it does it so quietly. When I'm done screaming and giggling I ask the kids how they liked it.😆

Watching what has gone on with the Mach E, the biggest issue has been in the High Voltage Battery Contactors. When these goes, the car bricks. Wide Open Throttle and lots of DC Fast Charging have both been implicated and Ford both rolled out upgraded software to help with this issue and new parts for those that fail.

It's not just mechanical parts that can be damaged when doing 0-60 maximum acceleration runs.

Optimal fast would be what the factory dictates as easiest on the vehicle. The cruise toggle like I mentioned when used accelerates quite fast - so is that optimal or is their Ford setting adverse to overall performance? I had a '22 MME that got the software upgrade you mentioned.

I'm not aware of any such instructions from Ford.
