Hey @one_bad_rover! What was it you were hoping your Lightning could do that it couldn't?
Tow and payload was the biggest issue. Brought a mustang out to Colorado. Averaged 80miles per charge. Usual 7-8 hour trip took 21 hours with charge stops.
then loaded up 1100lbs of wood in the back to shore up a cabin for winter, range dropped 146, which is a deal killer since the cabin is 80 miles from the nearest charger (in Butte, MT.)
So end of day, it doesn’t do the truck stuff I need. Great for around town and all, but doesn’t meet our needs.

This is what’s scaring me about a Lightning - short driving ranges when towing a trailer. I pull an enclosed car hauler trailer with an antique car in it. From what I’m hearing I may get only 150 per charge on an extended range battery, and towing with the standard range battery is a joke.

Seriouly questioning whether or not I want to own one now. ☹

If your regularly pull just about anything for any substantial distance regularly, don't get it. It is pretty black and white to me.

Now, short regular trips that you can charge at home each day are doable but even then I'd have ER.

That platinum is extended range batteries. I dont think you will ever see 150 miles. We did a stretch that was 105 miles between charges and we charged to 100% and rolled in to the charger with 8 miles of range left. Headwinds will kill your battery , as will any drag.
I usually drive pretty fast, thats not an option in the lightning for any range. keep it about 65 max or mileage drops dramatically. While we were in areas where I could charge we would get it a little, 85-90mph and the range would plummet.
The chargers are all high speed chargers, but getting 170kw is difficult. Sams Club and major retailers would get higher speeds if no one else was using the banks. Average on electify america and others was about 105kw. Occasioanally you hit some that will give you 25kw, thats it and thats all. Nothing to do at that point. Get enough charge to try and limp to the next station and hope for a better charge rate.
Dont get me wrong, its a great truck, does everything an f150 would do but just has a very limited radius of where it can do it. At least in my experience.
