I threw out a number because I knew people would ask for it. I’m planning on keeping and trading in my current vehicle. I would only sell for the right offer. If you don’t want to make an offer, I’m not sure why you are looking or spending time posting a reply. Thanks for your feedback though.

I should receive my truck over the weekend. I would be open to selling if the offer is right. Asking $125k. I am located in Iowa. Below are the details:

Best of luck to you. Highest one to sell has been at $112,000. Several sold closer to the $99K to $101K mark. Surprisingly, the demand for these isn't as high as many expected, at least not at more than $20K over sticker.

‘Demand isn’t as high’ BUT people are paying $20k-$30k over MSRP LOL
You're right, if you look at just the first one, it sounds pretty good. The first Rivian sold I think at $138,000 which was about $58,000 over MSRP.

But, now am seeing several of the Rivian's sell closer to the $105,000 to $115,000 range. Still, for those that are on pre-March 1st Pricing, that's still $25,000 to $35,000 over MSRP, which is still good.

The point being, the select first few went out at astronomical prices, then the prices settled around 20-25% less.

Based on the sales shown already, Only one sold at $112,000. The next one at $107k. Then the rest in the $99K to $101K range. But, assuming in a month or two they fall by the same 20-25% as the Rivian did, then you're looking at closer to $90,000. Especially as more and more of them get delivered and hit the resale market. Still about $10,000 over MSRP for a Lariat. But, depending on your location, you've got about 11% in the "out the door" costs for taxes, license, fees, etc, which puts you right around $90,000 out the door. So, "IF" it follows the same trend line the Rivian did, then you're looking at just breaking even on the truck. Still a nice option to have if you're like many and reserved multiple trucks because you couldn't decide. Still gives you the opportunity to buy both and sell one after you decide. On the Rivian, can still profit around $10,000 to $15,000. On the Ford, at least you can have tested and compared it and likely still unload it for what you have into it.

From experience, the Ford crowd is definitely different than the Rivian or Tesla crowd.

The Hummer prices are just stupid. Can't believe the recorded prices on those. I was a day one reservation holder and still haven't gotten a call to place my order, so they must be rolling those out very slowly. Can't believe people are paying well over double the MSRP for those. Certainly wish the website wouldn't have F'd up when I tried to place my reservation on it. Did the same thing to me when I tried to order the Cadillac. Finally worked as it should when I placed a reservation for the Silverado. Depending on how they roll out the Silverado, would assume the demand for it will be in line with what we're seeing for the Ford. Likely, the Cadillac Lyric too.

Which is fricken stupid imho.....but if guys what to piss their money away, not any of my business.
For many, with the options being that you can't get one for TWO FRIGGEN YEARS, or being able to buy one and get it today, not having to wait likely has a very reasonable value. Certainly not "stupid", at least in my opinion. The $20-30K over MSRP won't be what it is. Right now, based on the latest one's actually sold, it's at about $20,000. In a month, it will be at about $10,000, which is more than reasonable for someone who doesn't want to wait two years to get a truck. Dealers that actually have them on their lots, that are not pre-orders and are available for sale, will certainly charge at least that much of a mark-up on them.

I hate this whole system of having to decide what the heck you might want 2-3 years from now. So miss the days of going to a dealer, finding something you like, then driving it home. Who the hell knows what I want 2-3 years from now? A lot changes in that much time. So sadly, I just keep placing $100 deposits on just about every damn thing that comes available, figuring that will at least give me a choice to make at the time it is eventually actually available for sale.

Really looking forward to seeing the Cadillac and the Silverado. Probably will put a deposit down for whatever Dodge offers. If it's anywhere close to what they say it will be, sounds like it could be a really practical offering that would satisfy both, customers who want an EV, but need an ICE for towing or long distance travel.

Either that, or fork out an extra $10,000 to $20,000 to buy a pre-owned one when they do come available for sale.

Absolutely, as someone who is 'late to the party', I accept that I'm going to have to pay significantly over sticker to get this truck. However, I'm not seeing any flexibility in the prices on Facebook/Ebay, those who are listing seem confident that they can get ~125k for a Lariat (45k over sticker), or ~$140k for a lariat (~$50k over sticker!). The SR-XLT "near" me even has a bid on it at $90k on Ebay (and it is a 311A), so $40k over sticker.

I would fork out an extra 20k on one pretty easily if there were any available at that price. Heck, I offered $110k for a Lariat on Marketplace today (listed at $126), including financing through them, and PLUS a trade, and got ghosted. I suspect we are likely a few months for $20k over sticker to be sufficient.

BUT, as you said, the nice part here is that at least they don't seem to be SELLING at those rates, so perhaps after having them for a few weeks, sellers will realize the market is getting worse and lower prices to something at least somewhat affordable.

ONE Thing they don't seem to notice (even the dealers) is that there is a magic 120% MSRP and 130% MSRP point, which is the max LTV that most places will loan. If you get inside of THOSE numbers (or at least close enough for a reasonable down payment), you're much more likely to sell.

"Only your tax accountant knows" – but it would take at least the first $15,000 over $80k MSRP on a Lariat for me to break even in my state. Sales tax, dealer fees, titling fee, federal and state income tax at marginal tax rate on the gain.... The gain or loss of the federal EV tax credit is another factor the seller needs to think about. If they need a truck, chances are the next one won't come with a $7500 credit, whether buying ICE or EV. As much as I hate it, if I was looking right now and had to have one, I'd be looking at a dealer's untitled abandoned order or demo and pay the ADM.
